I've now finished adding all the matching mounts and minipets to the Petopia database! Please post below if you have any suggestions or additions or other feedback. Or if you find any bugs I missed.

I've also added options to the search page to show only pets that have matching mounts and / or minipets. There's also a new checkbox to return the results as a list of looks rather than individual NPCs. For example, here's a list of all Hunter pet looks that have both a matching minipet and mount in the database:

I've had to use some discretion in deciding which mounts and minipets should match. Some are identical (or identical other than saddle or armour), others less so. For the most part I've tried to only match ones that use the exact same skin colour, unless it's a "baby" minipet that is clearly meant to match that hunter pet and mount. But please give feedback below if you have suggestions.

That must have been a lot of work! It looks great Wain, I think it's a really fun feature. Pets, mounts, and minipets all complement each other so well, I like the tie-in!

I does make me want to go out and collect all the matching ones I don't have yet too ... even ones that just match my mounts too. Brilliant work! <3

I'd like there to be two levels of "matching".

EXACT match: The mount & pet look EXACTLY the same (whether it be armored, saddled, etc)
PARTIAL match: What most of the matches currently are.

That shouldn't be hard. I already added most of the similarity data, but it's hidden. We currently only use it for sort order when there are multiple minipets / mounts (we sort the most similar first).

You probably have this on your list already then as this probably falls under the Partial category, but considering there's no other mounts that look similar right now...

The pet has blue edge tints while the mount has purple edge tints, but the base color is very close.
