Hi everyone, none of you know me (or at least i think not) but i am a long time follower of Petopia and Mania's Arcania. I noticed something strange when i logged on one of my many baby hunter alts, my Humar had a 3 day dash buff. After spamming eyes of the beast for a while and enjoying watching him stampede through Org, i decided to see if anyone else had this bug with any of their pets? Mounting up doesn't seem to affect it, nor does putting him in the stable, and he is the only pet affected. Seems rather odd to me

I had a spider once that I stabled during Bestial Wrath. After a server reset or something he had a 28 day Bestial Wrath. I abandoned it, mostly because I didn't want to be thought of as a cheater, plus I wasn't a fan of the s pider.

A friend of mine also had Nuramoc with a 12-day or something Baby + Old Spice buff. I felt like an idiot due to both of us staring blankly wondering why his chimaera was smaller than mine, for about 10 minutes, before we realized...

I think it has something to do with stabling a buffed pet. But I haven't seen it happen in a long time; how long has it been since you played this hunter?

I've not played her for about 2 months, but Humar was my active pet when i last logged out. Still rather baffled by it Your story about the chimaera's made me lol, reminds me of something i would do

I sincerely doubt anyone removed your post, btw. As far as I know, only three people can do so - Mania, Saf, and Veph - and none of them have any interest in censoring anything but gold spam. Probably an internet hiccup or time-out.

*nods* I can look at the Moderator logs that show what the 3 of us have been up to, and there were no posts of yours removed from this thread. =) I did remove a double post for you from an alternate thread, but that was at a different time and it was assuredly not from here. ^^

I had a weird bug today too. I had just tamed the ghostsaber on my baby troll hunter and had hearthed to Org. I was selling junk and making bandages when my shiny new pet just flat out died at my feet. I checked the combat log and it just said "cat died" (I haven't gotten a name for it yet).

Any idea what happened?

Yup, ghost sabers have a 'live timer.' They are spawned from the statues and die several minutes later. The same goes for the owls spawned from nests in the Arakkoa place in Hellfire Peninsula.

They'll die the once after spawning, then after res, they're fine forever after

Thanks for the explanation. I've had one before on another toon, but I don't remember it ever doing that, lol.

It might have died in combat that time... that's the usual story. I didn't realise my first ghost saber did that, but since then, every tame has done that.

That's normal for Ghost Saber to just croak at your feet the few minutes after you tame him, but it's part of the "timer" it had whether or not you tamed it or killed it. If you killed it, you'd get to summon the pet with an item for only 10 minutes. Sounds better to just tame it.

One glitch I often get with my Spirit Beasts is that they'll stay stuck in Prowl if I had it on auto cast. I usually don't have it turned on too much, but if I stable them when I do then they get stuck for a while.

I had a goreclaw raptor named Blackjack, and he had bloodthirsty stuck on him for a month. Kept refreshing. I was disappointed because I didn't want to play him, (constant healy spam irks me. Green numbers ate my screen....) and so I had to revert to Bane the prairie wolf for a bit.

Just be careful no one reports you for taking advantage of a bug. I think that's an offense, I'm not sure.

Mm hmm, I'd advise caution just because technically that would be taking advantage of a glitch and would most likely be frowned upon by Blizzard.

Oh I'm fairly certain I'd report it if I saw someone in a BG with a perma-BW'd pet. Since it can't be CCd and deals extra damage it's a hugely unfair advantage. I'd be more likely to ignore it if I saw it in a 5man cause well, everyone overpowers those things anyway.
