New member in my pet family

Earlier today, when I was on my way to my mom's place through a neighborhood, I first noticed something crawling on the road. Yes, I did miss it with my car. After some turns and going back, I parked the car and strolled on over to see what it was, and it was a baby turtle. The little guy was so lucky as to not get run away but with the amount of times the little guy tried to escape from me when I had him in my car was proof he's a fast one.
This little turtle may have been owned by someone or is a wild one, so it's hard to tell. If it was owned, it may have been dumped by someone. There was nobody around when I picked it up. There was a brief summary my dad gave to me some months ago of one of our neighbors abandoning a pet turtle because her son wasn't taking care of it. We ended up having that pet turtle "knocking" on our front door, but my dad decided to give it to another neighbor of ours, even though I wanted it.
Anyway, I got to my mom's place, showed her the turtle, then after putting him in a container where he can't get out and we chatted, I went to Petsmart for some advice and some food. Tomorrow, in the midst of me working with my mom and her storage, I am gonna set up the empty fish aquarium me and my dad had sitting for some years. I didn't want to buy another aquarium tank and my dad doesn't want ours to be outside since it's still newish, so I'll have to provide with a light, but shouldn't be a problem.
If it all works out with the little guy, I might name him after a turtle in WoW. I'm thinking Kresh might do. When I can, I'll post some pics of my new member of the family.

Pics please.
When I was little, there was a turtle that lived in my area that we named Shelby. In the summer, every time it rained, Shelby would come out and we'd find him/her in the yard. We knew it was the same turtle, because Shelby had a notch in the top of his/her shell from where it had been chipped slightly. Shelby was awesome.

I'm guessing it's a land turtle.
If you can post pictures of the bottom shell I can tell you if it's boy or girl to!!!
That is if you really want to know.
I <3 them. So cute.

So far, it's in its new home, and I am hoping it would adapt enough to start eating. After I am done eating, I'll take its picture to show you.
It's the only thing that bothers me now. Only once it can start eating that I'll stop worrying. It does seem to like its new little pool and there is a spot for it to bask.
I have a feeling the little guy is a boy.

Thankees, guys.
And for good news, I got him to eat some dried mealworm after a day of adapting. He won't eat the "dog food" though cuz they're probably too big. I have some more mealworms but I'll have to go back to the pet store tomorrow and buy them. Probably not live ones; even I would care for something as puny as mealworms.
Other than that, my question of whether he'll eat has been answered, and I am not worried so much anymore. Every time I get a new pet, that's my top priority. To make sure they'll adapt enough to eat.
I am going to decorate his tank more in the weekend. I only built most of his environment because, again, that priority. I had to make sure he had a place to bask and plenty of water to swim around in.
The only big problem I have now is the fact I am going to go on vacation in a month and I'll have to figure out how to buy a portable home for the baby. My other pets won't be a problem though. My mom will look after them.

Sorry for the double post, but I just got another photo of him. This time, I took a picture of his tail. From what I heard, their tails determine their gender. About time we found out:
I couldn't get him to sit long enough for me to take a picture of his bottom shell.

Bookmarked it. My dad still doesn't think I need to put our gravel in for him because it'd be easier to clean, but I don't mind the tedious work. Besides, they'll provide support for those fake plants I bought.
