Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Elite usually means it's 122, which means it'll be too high to tame, even if it's flagged tameable.
There's even a unique fail to tame message, that's like "This elite creature is too high of a level for you to tame" or something like that.

Yep! This is known. It is a beautiful ravenApriltheLee wrote:You CAN tame a white raven - NEVERMORE. Got him!
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I think something I did is confusing people a bit. The problem is that ravens can be classed as Carrion Birds or Birds of Prey and appear in both categories. But the white one isn't tameable as a Bird of Prey, so in that family it shows up in the "Unused Looks" list. I should probably add a new category, "Tameable in a different family", to be less confusing.Valnaaros wrote:Yep! This is known. OK, fixed. Now, if a look is only tameable in another family (that isn't the subject of the page) it's now listed in its own separate category instead of as untameable.Wain wrote:I think something I did is confusing people a bit. Replied to your question in one of the other threads that you posted it inZyne wrote:Whats with the new information on Dread Ravens? It says what spec they are and all their abilities with beast lore on.... Are they secretly tamable now but require a tome or something like direhorns?
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Ok I sent at ticket to blizzard about the dread ravens thing we've noticed and this was the response: As we encourage players to experience and explore the land of Azeroth on their own, we don't give out insights to how the game works as those are for the players to find out....
Are they secretly tamable but require something to do so?????

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
If they were secretly tamable they would still flag as tamable in the Beast Lore, but would give a response like that which is given when you attempt to tame a Mech or Feathermane without the required items. The GM’s response is, basically “I don’t know. Go find out.” GM’s, in reality, do not know as much about the game as some might think.
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
During the war campaign quest Tracking Tipoff, there are 3 dog models previously found only on companion pets, there is a Corgi, a Pug and a St Bernard, all are in the dog family and have diets but unfortunately none are tameable. Still means there is hope for the future.

During the 8.1.5 Leatherworking questline on the ptr atm, you meet this guy on an island west in Val'sharah, north of the Gloaming Reef:
It's a hydra with a green body and blue heads. The red is just the targetting outline. Shame it isn't tamable.

I wonder if its a graphical bug. I looked up another green hydra from our page (Lernaea Vilescale):
http://www.wow-petopia.com/look.php?id= ... ydra_green
When I view it in the Wowhead 3D modelviewer, it has the same weird blue heads with green body that the screenshot shows.
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
You're right! It looks like they all do (on Wowhead) - even red and black hydras have blue heads. It looks like someone has screwed up the model data, which forces them all to use the blue head skin. I wonder if they're all like that on the PTR.Rikaku wrote:I wonder if its a graphical bug. I looked up another green hydra from our page (Lernaea Vilescale):

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I've confirmed that it's a widespread issue on the PTR and posted a bug report:

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Does this mean that there is a potential for a headless hydra like that? :U
Siggy under construction!
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Not really. I think it means the head geosets are flagged to use a default texture (i.e. blue) and not the one defined separately in the display database. If they used no textures at all, I thinkthe heads would still be visible, but use some sort of default colour, like white.Bowno wrote:Does this mean that there is a potential for a headless hydra like that? :U
