Falconer NPCs have me jealous

I would give anything if they'd give pet birds a trick/flavour ability to perch on your character's hand like this. They've got the one rogue parrot that perches on shoulders now, maybe they could rig something for hunters...

That would be way cooler and more immersive than flapping by our side!

I would love that! I could see it being tricky, since they would need to do it for every race, but not something that couldn't be done :)

That's gorgeous! They clearly have the animations in the models now so hopefully they could. I guess the major complication is that players do so many different things with their hands. It's possibly only something they could enact during extended idle periods. I'd love to see it, though :)

That bird looks like it has the big-headed variant. So I guess that answers my question of whether it's being used in the game. I wonder if it's meant for hawks vs falcons, but it's confusing. The big-headed ones have narrower wings, but irl falcons have sleeker heads and smaller/sleeker wings. Hmmmm.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind if it was just a flavour ability on the pet action bar, like Trick, and when we used it our character would stand and raise their hand for the bird to perch on it for either a limited time or until we moved our character again. Maybe something along those lines. I just...would love it so much. T-T <3

That's really cool, and I wish that we could have that as well. Maybe as a "trick" sort of ability for the family? Granted, it wouldn't work for the large ones, but it doesn't need to I don't think. I do wish the poor things could land though. Maybe that could be their trick. I just have to say how amazing the raptor colors are! I am absolutely smitten with them. I might need to make a raptor-hoarding hunter just to have them all

Edit: which you already said

I would get more flappy pets if they perched on your shoulder whenever you weren't attacking, or at least when you weren't moving.

I'm so excited for all these beautiful new birb models... but oh my gosh I would love this as a "trick" ability.

Edit: I am having a laugh at how unenthused Falconer Notley looks, though.

I think they could do it. It'd work a little bit like the 3D armor pieces from Legion. Establish a position on the character rig, make it work only for as long as the character stands still/is using the animation where the character holds his/her arms up. It would be cool.

But I doubt they'd add it. I'm still waiting for an ability to switch certain pets from using flying animations to ground animations. :/
