So, for those of you who haven't participated before, it's a great source of XP, both from the quests themselves, and the xp buff from the ribbon dance.

I'm pushing to hit 40 in time for the festival, so I'll have the faster ground mount. Add some spurs, and I'll be able to outrun a lot of high-level mobs.

So, two questions.. anyone know if they are adding fires to Nothrend this year, and does anyone have the list of all the fire locations?

I plan on getting 3+ levels gained on my hunter just from running for all the fires and the zone exploration bonuses as well. Might go for the explorer title as well.

There's a good map of the fires on wowhead and thottbot, and I think wowwiki has maps as well. No news of northrend here. :(

If I remember right there ARE fires in northrend, there's just no achievement for them.

the fires were in Northrend last year IIRC...but there was no ach as Ryai has said. I'm pretty sure the fires will be back. Not sure about the ach tho.

Cool never done this event before, how much exp do the fires give?

It's relative to your current level in terms of experience. You also get reputation with the Horde/Alliance so it's a great way to do rep building too!

And like everyone else said, there's fires in northrend but no achievement. You do get exp/rep still though I think (not sure myself, as I did it on my 80 who was capped for both exp and rep lol)

I heard they were going to have an Orc running around the Dalaran sewers this year dressed like this guy.

At any rate, my biggest issue will be getting 3 level 80's everything for the achievement *groan*. Then I have to decide whether my lowbie Rogue or Mage gets to level up with the huge experience bonuses. I wonder if ribbon dance stacks with heirloom stuff...

As far as I know it does...

My troll hunter is now lvl 40, and has the 100% mount and mithril spurs ready to go. Gonna save up some rested XP as well, and then go gangbusters. I will hit ALL the fires, both horde and ally, regardless of zone. (yeah there will be some corpse-running involved.. But most of the opposite faction fires you can sneak up on.

Far as I'm concern, I love this holiday for one reason. The XP. It's a perfect time for me to really level my alts. Just putting out those fires gives a good amount, plus the pole dancing also helps. /nod

I want to at least get my shaman to 78 this year with the boosted XP.

3 levels and counting from xp from the fires and exploring, and I haven't touched outlands or northrend yet

got one more level and a half tonight, finished all the fires except for nothrend, gonna do some mass-leveling with the pole dance buff on Saturday, with plenty of rested xp...

Outlands does take longer, but at least I got all the FPs.
