Tamed pet doesn't come with desired skill

So I tamed a Deviate Dreadfang in WC a bit ago. It's supposed to have Lightning Breath 2 according to Petopia, but doesn't seem to actually have it? It's not on the bar. I can't teach it to him with training. It also isn't in the list of skills in the pet tab of my spellbook. Is there a chance that taming these creatures can yield no skills?
