It's May the 1st so that means it's Mermay and I've not posted art here in zonks. I did this last year and really enjoyed it. I gave myself a theme which was Fish keeping fish. Tropical freshwater to be exact. Like ones I have/have had in my tank etc but this year it's Marine fish! The whole dang big wet is my plaything this year. Also I wont be fully following the official Mermay prompts just the ones I like XD

Today I just wanted something easy to do so her pose is simple. Day 1 is the NZ supermarket classic the Hoki!

Oh how cool! I love Mermay :D

Do you have a plan mapped out for the month, or do you take suggestions? :D

I'd suggest leafy seadragon, but I guess that's an obvious one :)

I've always loved Mandarinfish.

No matter, I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned.

Honestly? I totally forgot about both those fish and I think they'd be perfect! They have a Mandarinfish at the local aquarium and they are so pretty. I can't remember fully but there is something special about their blue colouring.

They'd count as fish because they are fish! Just long ones XD

Day 2 of Mermay is the Atlantic mackerel. She's dancing because I have had the Safety Dance stuck in my head all day.

I'm glad you guys like them! Also wain that video is great A+

Oh I found out the fact about these guys! They are one of only two vertebrate species known to have blue colouring because of cellular pigment.

That's cool. I had no idea! I figured at least some other fish and frogs used blue pigment, but I guess not.

Yeah I thought it was fitting for a sea drink.

Day 4 of is the Indo-Pacific sailfish! I know it's a bit cliche to do a billfish fencing but I really like fencing poses.

Very cool! Thanks for that :) They're one of my favourite local fish species. Truly amazing to see IRL.
