Karoma no longer tameable?

So i have a new hunter ive been leveling up and im the same level as Karoma but it says its not tameable. I recall people mentioning that certain beasts couldnt be tamed but forgot why or how it was done.

You didn't mention your level--spirit beasts now require level 39, I think.
