Zephirinor the Spiritbeast
With the Cataclysm tearing the land asunder, elemental spirits of old have been awoken in the lands of Azeroth.
Of the elemental court of Al’akir, this daughter of the skies has always longed to leave her place within Skywall. A wind spirit obsessed with the skies, she secretly yearned for others to explore. Now with cataclysm sundering small breaches between the planes of the elemental and Azeroth, her chance had come.
Taking form as she entered Azeroth’s new sky, her spirit entwined into that of a winged beast of speed and beauty,
Zephirinor the Spiritbeast was born, free at last.

1st of all, a big thanks to every one who helped in picking which one to do, I really could not decide which one for the life of me
I chose the name Zephirinor mainly because I just liked it
That and I have always liked names that sound something like ones personality or traits, but without it being an exact word. Strangely enough, a lot of noteworthy elementals are named that way by blizzard also. Like Cylonian, Thunderaan, Avalanchion, Volcanus and Hydros, just to name a few.
Also, as the same with An’seranche, I didn’t want another re-skinned model. One thing that sets Loque’nahak apart from all the other SB is that it was a purpose build model. I must say of the 3 designs I did, this one is probably the least altered however.
Another thing I did take into account though, was the 2nd set of wings on a wind serpent, are actually already in game, in essence anyway. If you take a closer look at the “spirit of competition” the mini pet, it essentially uses a wind serpent model as a base. One thing to note however, is that it has two little back hind lets, e.g. Where the second set of wings would go, you know, if they were actually ever going to make this one, not that it would happen, but yeah, just if...you.... errrr, rambling...
When it came colouring, the one thing that I did take into account was the fact that people had picked the wind serpent design over the others. As with some of the comments, due to it being not quite as mutated or changed as some of the others. Taking that into consideration I actually changed a few little ideas that I already had in regards to “Spritbeast” effects. Previous Spriti beasts have had transparencies and lasers, mist and electricity effects and I too had planned on having pulsing lighting running between the glands down its body and all over its charged plumage. But when I applied them, they looked kind of cool, but, it just didn’t sit right in the end.
Ok ok, now that said, if it didn’t have any kind of “lighting” effects, it wouldn’t be all the “spiritbeasty” so I still went ahead with the glands wells and iridescent feather tips, I just toned it down a little.
The colours I chose in the end where a little different compared to what I previously had in mind as well. I was leaning towards a much whiter and purpler design with some elements of blue, but I found that those colours had already been done an awful amount in the previous spirit beats, and wanted to avoid that. Being more of a wind inspired spirit beast however, my pallet was still a little limited to a certain spectrum for it to work. I decided to play a little with some green via infusing it through a spectrum of colours to help it sit better and it seemed to work ok the end.
Anyways, sorry it took so long, but I get really indecisive in the colouring stage, as I’m sure you know
Hope you all enjoy as much as I did designing it.
