Now I just noticed by looking at the comparison, the eyes on the left don’t glow, and the pipes and legs have lower rez less pronounced parts, good job for the findSlapperfish wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:12 am So I've been trying to catch up on BFA content before starting Shadowlands proper, and I recently noticed something about the mechanical spiders in Mechagon that the Petopia website doesn't list as of writing this.
Most - if not all - of the smaller spiders on the island use a different, lower-poly model with fewer details, simpler particle effects and a lack of lighting around the optics. I assume that this is the same model used for mechanical spider minipets. In particular, Motospiders and Leaping Bugbots seem to use this model.
For comparison, I tamed a regular Motospider (left), as well as the rare spawn, Mecharantula (right):
