During Wotlk and the time of Mania's Arcania, I brought to attention these beasts were tameable as carrion birds, while having the look of a dark brown owl.

Anyone willing to check it out? I don't have a max lvl TBC classic toon sadly.

I don't have a max level toon, either, as I don't play it. The test realms allowed you to create max. level toons for a while but I'm unsure if those still exist. I'll look into it.

I asked on Petopia's Twitter account but got no response, unfortunately.

Those birds require you to do a lot of the Skettis quest chains so you can make the potions to see the invisible Arakkoa, which is unfortunately a lot of work.

Yeah It'll take some time before someone reaches that point. I did it at 80 at the time, but it must be a lot harder to tame the bird at 70. We'll just have to wait and see.

I have a hunter toon at 70 on classic, but I don't think the Skyguard rep has been released yet. I plan to hit it as soon as it's out, however, so I'll try to remember to take a peek at the birds when I do it.

Very late reply, sorry. I took a break from WoW after the lawsuit got out. I got an itch and came back. My server is heavily Alliance sided, and even then, it's a low-pop server, so I might not be able to test to make sure, but beast lore DOES show the Akkarai Hatchling as tameable. It's still a very tough elite that summons them that I could not solo.
