Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
A rare serpent using one of the hooded variants was added. Furidian. Currently untameable and misclassified as a wasp.

Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Gastropods have been renamed to Helicids.
The Axolotls that were in a family, even though they were untameable, are now not in a family at all.
Another red armored raptora, the Proto-Ancient Raptora, was added and flies around the southeastern area of the zone. It is tameable.
The Tarachnid now uses the Black Tarachnid variant, as well.
Mother Phestis is now flagged as tameable, but cannot be due to level.
Tahkwitz is now tameable. This now makes all Raptora variants, both armored and unarmored, tameable.

Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Helicids make more sense for what they are in zereth mortis, but it’s a great opportunity to start a full on gastropod family with normal snails and slugs, but if they’re exotic, I’m jumping off the cliffs of Zereth Mortis

Sand Matriarch Ileus is now tameable. She doesn't retain her name yet, but she does use the dark scarabid variant.

Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Just entered the PTR, only to find out that Lupines are brighter than in the last build, raptora and cervids aren't affected
Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
This. If they're exotic, that'll be the final nail in the coffin of me quitting.
The Mage Tower already has me 99% of the way there, lol.
I stand by my earlier suggestion:
Rename the Beetle Family as something like "Hardshells" and put the snails into that. Because not only would the family ability make sense for snails, it would expand the beetle family, while still leaving the option for them to make a new family in 10.0
Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Thanks for all your finds!
I do wonder if the renaming of Gastropods to Helicids is to make way for a broader Gastropod family in the future. Here's hoping!

Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Judging off the definition of what a Helicid is, which is basically a land snail, it seems the name change makes them more specific, unless you are referring to how Helicids would be a member of a Gastropod family. Though in that case, the family likely would just contain varieties of snails and slugs.
Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Yep, essentially I was hoping that the intent is to free up the broader category of "Gastropod" for use as a family name in the future.Valnaaros wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 8:07 amJudging off the definition of what a Helicid is, which is basically a land snail, it seems the name change makes them more specific, unless you are referring to how Helicids would be a member of a Gastropod family. Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
I think the Gastropods can be a ferocity defense pet family, i am almost getting tired of using scalehides for solo content, so I want a snail to do solo content with me Instead

Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
I would love to have a substitute for the Scalehides but it would take a lot of, er, fast talking to get snails in as a ferocity pet

Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Currently, snails are still listed in Carapids, which are an Exotic family. Anything is possible, but I really don't see Blizz making a family for them this patch or altering an existing family.

Re: 9.2 PTR Beast Thread
Since it’s the last major patch, hopefully the remaining beasts end up in our stables as well

Gorkek is now tameable and retains his name. This just leaves the Mossy Black variant unavailable.

Non mechanicals

Lupines
Raptoras
Helicids
Half mechanicals

Lupine Animates near Haven now use the unarmored red look, hoping i'll find more affected creatures
