Cataclysm question..

So, I'm thinking.
What on the Monday before the 4.0 Cata pre-patch came out, you log off somewhere that is going to be destroyed? My guess is that you'd get teleported to your faction's capital city, or maybe you would just get moved a bit so you aren't in the way of anything.
Whatever happens, I'm planning on logging off Kaylai on a big mountain overlooking Crossroads, in the Barrens, because It's my favorite place to go and just think, and I'm sure it will be demolished in the expansion. I'm gonna log my druid off at the bottom of Thousand Needles to see what will happen. :3
What do you guys think? And where would you log your character off?

I actually thought about this too.
I'm planning to log out in Astranaar.

You'd die. *nodnod.*
No really though, it'll probably auto-send you to the new zone's graveyard or to your hearthstone location. If for some reason you don't have a location, then likely capital city.

I'm planning on logging out my ally in SW that way I can go to check out booty bay and the barrens. For my horde guy I'll leave him in Org so I can try to find that rare Zhevra to tame if he still exists.
I did hear the crossroads were going to be destroyed, but that mountain will probably remain so I think you'll be ok.

Blue posts on the forums have said they are debating on sending everyone, no matter their location, back to their race's home city. (They thought about hearthstone locations, but Dalaran wouldn't load for two days if they did that,

)

They plan on sending belves to silvermoon, draenei to exodar and nelves to darnassus...?
That's just stupid. Send everyone to Undercity and Ironforge instead.

That would make sense. Though, I'll log out in a favorite spot that will be destroyed, perhaps Auberdine for Teigan and the Barrens or Tanaris for Gryselde, just cause I'm sentimental that way.

I'd hope so. That mountain is so amazing.
I have a huge attachment to it, because I'm a geek like that.

I'm really tempted to now leave my toons in the Shimmering Flats before the patch.

i think its a pretty safe bet that anyone logged off in either kalimdor or the east kingdoms will find themselves in the nearest capital city of their faction. or at the very least, all horde will be lumped into orgrimmar and alliance into ironforge or stormwind.
i do rather like the idea of being sent to the racial captials though. itd be the first time since BC thered be a population in Exodar lol

I hope everyone doesn't immediately flock to Dalaran. D: It'd be a nightmare getting logged in... Maybe I should just stay in Thunder Bluff.

I suspect they will move people either to their hearth locations or their racial capitols to avoid the mess that happened with Wrath launch where people logged out in the "old" Naxxramas in the Plaguelands to see what would happen when it moved.
What happened was they couldn't access their characters and had to file GM tickets to get them moved to a location that actually existed. Given that compromise restorations are running between 10 and 14 working days as it stands, I'm pretty sure Blizzard doesn't want to end up flooded with "OMG I can't access my toon!" tickets on top of the usual load.

Im gunna log off Rottingham in IF, and Wight in Undercity... Nobody will be there after Cata because they'll be exploring
BUT! I am going to attept the same thing as Kaylai, and camp my horde Rottingham in the bottom of thousand needles :3

I'm pretty sure they're going to move us all to our capital cities regardless of whether we've logged in a safe place or not.
After the change to Wintergrasp to allow flying, my toon and a few friends' toons were unable to fly at ALL until a GM fixed us because we'd been in WG when the servers went down. It was pretty terrible. I doubt Blizz wants to go through that again either, since ALL OF AZEROTH will be flyable.
