It has been a HOT minute since I was on here. I've been getting back into WoW after some on again /off again hiatuses. There has been so many changes I don't even know where to start. What brings me here you may ask?
My beloved oil coated wolf BP from WAY way way back in the day. I would really love to use him now and again but am horribly frightened that he won't be "BP" anymore.
Has anyone used their trick tamed creatures lately??? Like in this patch?
I don't want to take him out for him to turn normal.

Most of us now just keep them in the stables or just take them out to go afk in a city. Since all those glitch tames have been hotfixed, there's no way to re-obtain them if we lose them. Blizz has been giving us some pets that already have some visual effect we can go tame w/o glitch taming atleast. There is also an item you can farm that give your pet that oil stained look, it be temorary of course.
I made a video of pets that have some sort of void/effect tameable pets similar to oil stained wolf/hawk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShQkVcd5698&t=2s
Also a video about pets that have been injured similar to the lone hunter wolf with dagger in its head:

That way you won't have to spend ages searching thru all of petopia looking for these pets. XD

I took out one of my buffed pets and they're fine. Summoned him, put him back in the stables, summoned him again and he's a-okay. He's also a 'fragile' buffed pet (loses it if he dies) so extra security there.
However, I wouldn't take out any buffed pet for anything but showing off in RP. There's been reports of random battles wiping them out from a Yogg-Saron fight to a random Thunder Lizard snuffing out a flaming boar with its stomp. Officially only Timewalking and Arena wipes them, butttt just don't take them out in any instanced content for sure and even Open World isn't that safe.

Lost my Flamy boar to timewalking before it was known.
I still have my oil wolf and my ghost owl but they never leave my stables

I still have my sha-corrupted crocolisk, it's the only trick tame that had interested me back in the day. He's intact but like others said, it's to risky to use them ever. We're just not sure what might accidentally wipe the buff.
It's also a shame that whatever coding the Animal Companion talent uses, it won't show the aura if they're your extra pet, or even if they're called by Dire Beast stables. I was hoping we might get a secondary way to appreciate them through those but it's really just a Stable trophy to pull out and look at every so often.

My oily wolf is still alive and oily as ever! I just would like to know if I can at least take him into FOLLOWER dungeons but I'm not risking it.
