wowhead just posted an article about a new spirit beast available in the Rookery dungeon. Currently the method to tame this birb is not discovered. There is a community post of a fellow hunter who tried lots of things but unfortunately nothing seems to work. I hope it is not as difficult to get as the birb from that DF raid.

I keep wondering if it's something in the dungeon or if we have to find things outside of it? It spawns even in normal follower dungeons and is listed as tameable so it's probably not "solo on mythic". Probably...

I'm gonna be annoyed if it's the weird door I saw exactly ONE time and can't find again. It opened then immediately closed before I could get near it.

I am guessing that since the blue post said Aradan is currently tamable, that it can't be a mythic tame since you cannot do the dungeon on mythic right now.

It may not be anything unusual in terms of the taming method. I think that they just meant that it cannot be tamed like most beasts, since you can't just walk up to Aradan and cast tame beast.

I also think that it is something that would be easy and repeatable since Aradan has five different models that he can spawn as.

That's a relief honestly.
It's probably something you can do even in the follower dungeon since Aradan appears there as well. I'm gonna try using feasts near em when I get home from work tonight.

Gonna look for that weird door again too. I thought it was a graphics glitch when I saw it but thinking on it now, why would a moving door even be there if it's not supposed to be opened for some reason?

I do wonder if it does have something to do with the feathers seen around the rookery. Is there any way to find out if something is interact-able but you just don't have the right buff, debuff or other flag/ pre-requisit ? I've tried jumping on them with that special stormrook freeing ability, and getting drunk with the cinderbrew. Still no luck there.

There are other epitaphs that mention Stormriders. The one at Mourning Rise isn’t the only one.

It is also possible that since Aradan only spawns after Kyrioss is killed, that Aradan is mourning because of their death.

One good thing about Aradan is that it's available WITHOUT COMPETITION. I didn't consider this until now, but you don't need to worry about;
- Someone killing it mid-tame
- Someone killing it before you even reach it
- Another hunter trying to take it from you
- World PvP griefing
This isn't the first time we've had a pet like this, as the Exile's Reach tutorial pets are the same, but this is a very welcome change. Now we just need to hurry up and find the method. Bunch of slackers not finding it yet

Weird thought but have we confirmed that you dont need the thing from the mythic of the previous expansion that let you tame the fire owl? Has anyone gotten that here for the mount/hunter pet?
Technically that would make it so the method is available to everyone if it came from the previous expansions mythic.

Seems someone has it. Just trying to get confirmation and how he went about it.

We must both be in the Secret Finders Discord l was just about to post about it. I hope we figure it out! I have been wanting to tame him since beta. Nothing I have tried has worked

Yes we are! And yes I've been up for a few nights after some grinding trying to find anything out. Hopefully we get some answers soon!

I’m in there, too. I saw people suggesting that since the person didn’t provide any explanation as to how they got it. Just a low rez image. It has also been suggested that the Elusive Stormrook npc may have been tamable at some point and they could’ve tamed it and just named it Aradan.

My boomer is showing, as I have no clue where they're discussing Aradan, but this could just be a lucky fluke right? I mean, guy might've just been doing random stuff and managed to figure it out. There are all kinds of players out there, including those who are often silent when you try talking to them. Might just be a person that got lucky and doesn't realize it. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt because this is something that's apparently been in the game long enough that a blue post was willing to confirm it, after all. Quality of the photo shouldn't matter, because I suck at taking screenshots yet nobody questions my stuff when I post it lol.

Either way, grats to whoever that mystery person is. Here's hoping they show some love and tell someone.

Elusive Stormwook was never flagged tameable iirc. But that's also just like, one person theorizing, Blizz says it's possible so I don't see why it wouldn't be. They fudged up on the Panthara in Legion but a blue never made a post confirming it so I think it's available we just haven't got the right combo yet. We also don't have the full force of the Secret Finders cause only the hunters care while stuff like mounts and pets get an army of Seekers.

It is entirely possible that someone just figured it out or stumbled onto it, and it is still also possible that someone tamed Aradan in an unintended way, like Nah'qi. I am leaning toward the latter since if you did tame it in the intended way of doing so, then you shouldn't be against saying how you tamed it. If you are just a rather shy person, posting a picture of you solving the secret of something that has a fairly good amount of focus in the community would just get you a ton of attention and/or harassment.

I agree. I don't think that anyone should be witchhunted.
