Patch 11.1 bugs and tame suggestions

Wrong classification
- M.A.G.N.O. (234480) (mechanical wolf) incorrectly classed as an Elemental instead of a Mechanical
- Quite a few vermin in 11.1 are classed as Beasts when they should be Humanoids. See a list here: https://www.wowhead.com/ptr-2/npcs?filt ... 0#0+1-8+10
(Alternatively, maybe they were placeholders and they should now use the new rat model?)
Could be made tameable
- Rebar (227737) - armoured hyena, appears during the quest "Stealing the Keys" (suggest retain name)
- Darkfuse Hyena (229252) - armoured hyena, mob in Operation: Floodgate (Dungeon)
- Bombshell Crab (231497) - bombshell crab, mob in Operation: Floodgate (Dungeon)
- Discontent Detector (233786) - armoured hyena, found in the Revolution phase of Undermine which can't be accessed after
- Marina Zapper (227645) - new electric eel model. Since the mount version can fly, I assume it's lore that these can also??
- Voltstrike the Charged (233472) - rare elite - new electric eel model. Since the mount version can fly, I assume it's lore that these can also?? (suggest retain name)
Appearance change suggestions
Undermine hyenas still using plain old model:
- Darkfuse Bleakfang (225697) and Darkfuse Growler (225852) could be changed from plain hyena to new armoured hyena model - Same black fur but with black armour (since the Blackfuse cartel colour is black). Extra fur colours wouldn't hurt, either

- Pit Prowler (235303) could be changed from plain old hyena to the new armoured model - a selection of fur colours with yellow (for Venture Co.) armour.
- Junkyard Hyena (225815) could be changed from plain old hyena to the new armoured model - a selection of fur colours with yellow (for Venture Co.) armour.
Unused colour or appearance suggestions
See the
11.1 guide for which colours we've found tameable and which we haven't (most seem to be unused)
- Could give the Guttercrag Glowbug (230921) the curly antenna look (but with the existing colour, i.e. this look), as that's an unused appearance while its current single look is already common.
- Could add last unused pterrordax colour (gold) to Saltwind Pterrordax (229666) and Saltwind Pterrodax (235230), and/or Saltwind Hatchling (229836). Might also fit the kaja'mite theme of the area!
- If the eels are made tameable, could change Voltstrike the Charged (233472) to red, since the common NPC uses the other two colours (blue and green)
Pet-related patch bugs and issues
- In Undermine, the Dire Beast hunter ability currently summons old classic-era beasts. A table of appropriate summons needs to be set up for the zone.
- Undermine could really use some stable masters, at least at the major flight points or hubs. So far I haven't found any.

I'd like to see all of the lynxes in the Priory of the Sacred Flame tagged as tameable. It's quite sad we only got 3 colors when there's more, especially with cool harnesses.

I don't know if 11.1 fixes it, but on live, Tephratennae is still exotic, despite being a Wasp.
Wowhead says it is no longer listed as tameable at all in 11.1, so kinda worried about that.

I just checked on the PTR and she's fortunately still tameable!
Still exotic though

Throwing my suggestions into the ring.
- An extremely huge undertaking, but flag every beast with a tameable model or family, even friendly mobs, as tameable. "Oh, this is tameable? I should find one of my own!" should be the result of beast lore.
- Add tameable Gorillas to Zul'dazar that use the Grong model.
- Add tameable Crabs to the Ringing Deeps and Undermine that use the Cave Crab model. They did this! Got some cave crabs in Undermine with the 1/16 build!
- Add a glyph for Beast Mastery and Marksmanship that changes your summoned beasts and hawk into pets from your stable. Marksmanship's hawk and Beast Mastery's wyvern would use appropriate pets that would be capable of flight, such as birds of prey, carrion birds, and so on.
Old zone suggestions unrelated to Undermine:
- Isle of Dorn:
Flag these sea slugs as tameable worms. The ones in Azj-kahet are fine, so these should be flagged as well!
- The Ringing Deeps: Flag
Bytta as a tameable spider. It should retain its name as it is a notable quest NPC, and it should also retain the worn bucket on its head.
- Hallowfall: Add the
Amber and
Gray colors to the
Escaped Lynx NPC.
- Hallowfall: Add the
Gloom Stalker and Umbral Stalker NPCs to other locations when the crystal in Hallowfall turns purple, as they are otherwise lost entirely if you progress the main story campaign.
- Azj-Kahet:
Flag Leg Chewer as a tameable Lizard. It should also retain its name as it's a notable quest NPC.
- Azj-Kahet: Flag
Kra'jhendo,
Gahn'dante,
Al'haggro, and
Scalpel of Xishirra as tameable spiders. They should also retain their names as they are notable quest NPCs.
- Azj-Kahet: Flag
these sea slugs as tameable worms. The neighboring worms in Azj-kahet are fine, so these should be flagged as well!
- The Rookery: Flag
Kyrioss as a tameable Spirit Beast. It should also retain its name as it is a boss. Give it a puzzle to solve like we needed for Aradan. It won't be tameable until the next expansion, but it never hurts to prepare early!
- Priory of the Sacred Flame: Flag
War Lynx as a tameable Cat.
- Cinderbrew Meadery: Flag
Bee-let,
Ravenous Cinderbee, and
Worker Bee as tameable Wasps.
- Darkflame Cleft: Flag
Ol' Waxbeard as a tameable Rodent. It should also retain its name as it is a boss. It won't be tameable until the next expansion, but it never hurts to prepare early!
Bugs I've Noticed;
- Crab Shank, the toy that lets a crab hold a comically oversized knife, is broken. The knife currently rests on top of the pincer.

@Werebear In regards to Bytta, it won't actually retain the bucket. If an effect or item or whatever cannot be seen in the Wowhead modelviewer, then it is lost when it is tamed.

I'm aware of that, unfortunately. It'd still be a neat change for them to bake the bucket onto the model. If we can have an uglycorn with the worst case of a fungal infection since Draenor, then surely a spider with a hat isn't too much to ask for!

I'm crossin my fingers for more of the armored growler hyenas too. I love my hyenas, ever since I tamed one way back in SM. If there's not more colors I'm gonna be a sad spud.

Another bug I just realized while extensively playing with the stable; some pets are not centered on the shadow. The pets I've noticed tend to follow the same rig, so similar models all apply. The ones I personally see that are offset;
- Grong and Grong the Revenant
- Mudskippers
- Zereth Mortis Hoppers, Loa Toads,
- Korthia Gromits
- Undead Hounds (like Gluth)
- Classic Hydras (including Chimaeron)
- Sabertusks
- Maw Rats
- Ankylodons
- Korthia Shardhides
- Crystal Scorpids (Like Skorpyron, who's still got a broken model)
- Spirit Beasts; Bloodgullet, Ghostcrawler, Degu (but not the other porcupines?), Gon, Aradan
- Red-Nosed Reindeer (Super tiny in the stable)
- Draenor Wolves (offset low)
- Rockslime Worms from Azj'kahet
There's probably more, but these are the ones I have in my own stable.

Adding another suggestion to the pool;
- Change each Goblin Hyena so that they each have their own defined armor color, but each unique goblin hyena can spawn with all possible fur colors.
- Change each Cave Crab so that they each have their own defined body color, but each unique cave crab can spawn with all possible shell colors.
- Change each Bomb Crab so that they each have their own defined bomb color, but each unique bomb crab can spawn with all possible body colors.
- Add new cave crabs and bomb crabs somewhere to ensure that all six body colors for both crabs can spawn.
As of the most recent patch (as of this post), new hyenas were added that were specifically placed in certain spots in the Undermine. Each hyena is, outside of rare spawns and untameable friendly NPCs, unique in that their armor color is ONLY found on them. This is a great way to introduce multiple textures, as they could have bred any number of hyenas of varying fur colors, but marked them with that faction/area's unique armor. This sort of selective placement of NPCs is a really good idea, and I'd love to see it expanded to the new crabs as well.
A much more grand suggestion; do this for all future non-rare tameable NPCs as well that have mix and match components.

I'd like to see Deepflayers and the war kodo to be made tameable.

I still think Deepflayers was an easy pet family they could have done for War Within instead of not giving us one. Lol.
Hell, Dire Beast calls them lol.

Apologies if this is the wrong thread, and I did a quick search to see if it'd been brought up!
The Thornspeaker Knives for summoning the Drust-themed pets are bugged. When attempting to use the knife on the corpse, it will fail with "Invalid target."
Attempted this on every color of the cat, deer, and bear, and sadly I still have all the knives in my bags, because none of them are working. Already posted in wow's forums and on wowhead, but thought I'd mention it here so folks don't waste their time.
(Wish they'd just make their Drustvar counterparts tamable, items like this always break somewhere in the coding.)

I think it would be really nice if the harnessed Arathi Lynxes could be tameable! We have the one saddled rare in the overworld, but I think these harnesses look really handsome.
There's some in the Priory dungeon (which is now in the M+ rotation so it came to mind again)
