I noticed the flyers in EcoDome Rhovan, the Death Scavengers, are untameable Feathermanes. Is there a book or something that makes these tameable later? I've been gone a while but can't find any info about them.

These were marked tameable on the 11.2 PTR, all the way up until launch (literally tameable less than an hour before launch). They lacked attack animations despite using an already well-established rig, but they were popular new additions. Once 11.2 launched, they were made untameable while also fixing their attack animations, which was a very backwards decision. Them being feathermanes is simply a leftover from the PTR.This image sums up everyone's reaction when that happened;
