Since 12.0.5 is dropping today, we'll likely see 12.0.7 on the PTR in the next week or two.

I so want them to be tameable. I would so roll a dark iron just for them

I haven't seen anything in any of the new (rather, reused) areas in 12.0.7

I tend to notice that these gryphons are low res, they were only meant to be mounts initially but I guess they are making them wild too, as cool as they are, I am still going to stick with my cloudrook

As Valnaaros pointed out to me, in 12.0.7 there's at least one sporeglider (untameable) that uses a glow originally intended for a different colour.
As a result I've expanded the looks in our database for all 16 possible combos of base skin & glow.
The one currently appearing is olive with cyan glow:
But some others (currently unused) are also pretty nice!
For the rest, see:
https://www.wow-petopia.com/family.php? ... oregliders
The ones using the glows from green and red are very similar, one is just a bit more intense than the other, so I've classified them separately but the colour names I used to distinguish the glows are a bit arbitrary.

That’s pretty cool. The teal with cyan glow looks like a sporeglider touched by the void, I love all those colors and new beast variant discoveries

Agreeing with Worg on the teal and cyan one, that's a nice combo. I'm a fan of the purple with vermilion combo too. Shame all these (and older) modular combinations don't get used enough. Lots of repeat NPCs that could just be given random combos out there. Oh well, I'll be praying for teal-cyan and purple-vermilion to make it in one day.
Makes me wonder what other fun combos could be out there that aren't on Petopia yet. Are the Sporeglider mounts separate textures from the wild ones? I know that new mount from the upcoming raid has slight differences in its texture, like rings on its tail...dongles?

Sadly, that new riding sporeglider has harness textures baked into its skin

It also relies on glow effects that the wild model couldn't reproduce so it might have looked a bit flat anyway. The new mount is an odd model - someone went out of their way to create a new sporeglider mount that is identical in form to the original except it displays some bands of sparkle in certain places on its body, and there's only one colour. Seems like a big time expense for a new mount that really isn't remarkably different to the regular purple one, and in an environment where they're so desperately short on time and staff that they're bringing back the off-world invasion events from Legion and rebranding them as void invasion events.
As for other combos, there are a few other models with potential in Midnight alone. The 'marsh walker' tripods have a very similar colour scheme to the sporegliders and the glows could be swapped in a very similar manner. I've looked at them but not added them. I'll just say they don't always look as good, like the teal with blue glows and the purple with pink glows look a bit monochrome on the marsh walker, while they looked very pretty on the sporeglider.
Consumptors look okay with their glows swapped too. I've just ignored these until there's any evidence they'll be used.

Naigtal, one of the worlds we visit in 12.0.7, has the Hal'hadar Leystalker, also.

Aside from the better availability of the Hal'hadar Leystalkers, there's really not much in terms of pet (or hunter, for that matter) content this time around. There's a few new tameables, including more broken tailed crystal scorpids (I love this, honestly), but nothing new. 12.1 is likely when we'll finally see something new get added. Hopefully not as lackluster as the post-launch content has been thus far.

Thanks for the spam reports today! Sorry it took me a while to get to them but hopefully all fixed now. It looks like two accounts arising from one spammer who posted about 10 messages, so pretty easy to delete and ban. Fortunately we don't get hit by lots of spam at once very often but I will look at giving mod privileges to a couple of extra users to cover times when I'm not around.

Legit thought I went to the wrong bookmark earlier when that spam was around lol.
On the Patch side of things, 12.0.7 continues to not really have anything for hunters. No new beasts besides a few reused models (including jawcrawlers, which feel so out of place). I'm sad the baby jawcrawlers aren't flagged, because they're full size enemies. I want a cute toothy loofah pet...

So we're back!
I'm sorry for the downtime and thanks for your patience while we sorted out what happened. Of all the bad timings, our server host was in Florida at the time it went down. Everything should be stable again, but please let me know if you have any issues.
Fortunately, there aren't any new pet looks in 12.0.7, so there hasn't been much to discuss. But also unfortunately, there aren't any new pet looks in 12.0.7
On a slightly more positive note, I'm expecting things to improve on the hunter pet front. There's nothing I can say, and also nothing concrete anyway, but things are looking more positive.

One week without petopia was so weird, but I’m so happy it’s back up and running. I wish they would add more to the new zones but its all good, I’m waiting for the 12.1 announcement

It's good that this happened while waiting for 12.0.7, considering how... lacking the patch is. No risk of missing anything lol. We're gonna be stuck with that patch for a while too, which is unfortunate. Still, good to see the site back! Bring on the 12.1 ptr before the next week of petopia downtime!

Hmm? HMMM? Is this subtly a hint that your pocket dev is finally listening? lol. Here's hoping these positive things you speak of are noticeable and/or that you tell us your secrets when they happen!

The devs are always listening. Whether they have time to do anything at all is another matter. I think recent expansions have demonstrated clearly how little time devs have left to revise their work, or tackle things outside their main purview (and nobody has hunter pets as a key activity). The fact we have one dev who has devoted any signifiant amount of time at all is now a fortunate situation. For WoW in general, it's clear things are going to continue getting tighter. But I'm optimistic hunter pets might see a modest improvement.

Hope this means what I think it means because it has indeed been a boring few months from a pet perspective. Would love to tame something otherworldly.

Im curious what COULD be tamed?
Ultradon would be cool, harrower could be neat.
I am more interested in the jellyfish do, maybe we can finally tame those big eels?

Yes. I would totally love the flying versions of jellyfish as tameable creatures. Specifically the Harandar Jellies, siphoids, and the many eyes n’zoth jellyfish they can fly and have no reason being untameable if we can tame water striders. Another pet we should have are those lion seals capable of walking & running, they are cool models and I’d love to fight alongside one
