Well Arcturis was my first spirit beast ever. And for a while now i had been deciding weather to keep aotona or not and i decided i would. Well as i went to the badlands to find the dragonscale LW'ing trainer I came across a rare i had been looking for since wow came out in 04 ( when i hit 38) the rare spawn Barnabus. I had been looking for that great big red wolf since i hit 38 in 04 and never had any luck. When i did, he was dead or someone got to him before i could get there. Only 2 times have i ever seen/been told he was there and it was to late. So when i seen him i didnt know what to do. My heart stopped noone was in the zone on horde side according to /who. i was thinking maybe i will get rid of aotona even though i love her to death. Then as some people in the guild asked, is there aqnother pet. Then i thought... who.. i love loque, gondria, skoll aotona.. and then there was my sb bear arcturis.. yes he was my first but that bond.... was never really there. When i mentioned it in g chat, eveyone had a good opinion and helped me decide, to let arc. go, i can easly get him again if need be. But barnabus.. he has been evading me all these years.. and finally, he showed himself to me and i was able to get him. I just got back from vaction today to havent been able to play all week. I kept his given name Barnabus. Finally i have the wolf i have been wanting since i first heard of him. and that i have been looking for since 04  . here are some screenies :)

Gratz! You two make an awesome looking team. I would have done the same exact thing and let Arcturis go.

thanks all :) it was a tuff decision but i am happy with the decision i made. i think the only reason letting arc go was cause he was my first sb and thats really it. i never used him, he just sat in the stable, like some good people in the guild said, if it dont work out i can always go get arc again he is a easy tame. But just chillin with him in badlands with so much fun :headbang: i am so happy to have finally after years have found barnabus and was able to tame him

Congratulations on your new wolf! I am sure Barnabus will be a very fine companion for many hunts to come. You waited a very long time to catch up with him, which only makes me think that rare creatures find us when they think we are ready, not the other way around.

It happened to me and my hunter, Shaon, too. I had planned for her a cat trifecta, a cursed Offspring of Harkoa, a dreadsaber, and the crown jewel of the trio, Gondria. A black spotted leopard was her first pet, taken out of Darnassus and Ramas would become that COH. We tamed King B for our Gondria placeholder and Dishu for the dreadsaber. We were set and we leveled to the points where all those cats fell into place. Or so I thought.

As Shaon gained in levels and finally got the point where Sholazar was a place to work, things changed. For one, she dropped her dreadsaber for Aotona, renamed Deva. It was unexpected and I was surprised to see that rare bird. She grew on me and I won't let her go. Somewhere in there, I was lucky enough to hear that Rak'Shiri was up, a rare I have wanted padding by a hunter's side since I heard of him. So another pet took a vacation, my bear Subek, and I tamed Rak'Shiri.

I was happy. My stable seemed stable. I would wait for the expanded stables and retame my missed pets and the others I wanted, like Loque. But one afternoon while leveling my devilsaur, Morok in Sholazar, I got a surprise. My cache, you see, had already logged him, so I never knew he was there until I turned around. It was Loque and there was no one around but me and my cannot-be -released-ever dino, who was King Mosh, was at my side. I told of my find and dilemma in g-chat and it boiled down to, Rak'Shiri is an easier rare to look for. Winterspring is hardly touched. Loque can prove a pain. A quick flight back to Nesingwary's camp, traded pets, and flew back thinking he would not be there. Someone else would find and either tame or kill him. But no, he was there. I farewelled Rak, and tamed Loque for a second time. It wasn't an easy choice to make, but it was made easier by knowing I could tame Rak'Shiri again.

Like you, Sili, I found help in g-chat. And like your case, they were right. It is wonderful to have other opinions from often clear heads. I don't know if I would have dithered and lost Loque that time, or what.

ty so much :D thats how i kinda was, i had no problem setting my pets free into the wild for the sb's. I love them all, they all found me. When it came to loque, Aotona, and gondria, they found me when i was at my lowest peak, when i wasnt the happiest in rl becuase i was either sick or having a bad day but arc. never had that feeling. I am glad i got help from g-chat, who know what might of happened if i never tamed barnabus. Thanks all  and loque can be a pain lol but so worth it.
