Come cataclysm blizzard has stated that the rare 100% mounts like mimiron's head will become rare drops while mounts that are more common such as drakes will remain 100% and become farmable

So long as they don't change their minds about this later, I like this. I hate the idea of mounts just diappearing because they want to keep them for the elitists only. At least this way us more casual players have a shot at Invincible, just hope the droprate isn't *too* low.
I am so farming up a black drake for my Death Knight in Cata.
Although I do wish they're reinstate the black and plagued protodrakes. >.>

Hmm I don't see anything about making plagued or black protodrakes available but I really would love it if they did. Getting a black one would be great.

Isn't the drake the same as the 10 man version ?

no 10man is black drake 25 man is twilight drake

I want a frost wyrm so badly; I hope they leave them in too. I've loved frostwyrms since Warcraft three, I called them my "Kitties". Plus, I have the deathcharger mount(which I got before they raised the drop rate, was only one of 4 on the server), so the frostwyrm would be a perfect match.

Unless they re-instate the Armani Warbear AND the Plagued and Black Protos. All this is is Flipflopping BS on Blizz's part and I'm not happy.

Oh we can have a chance for drakes, BS again! Mean I've been in fail raids so fail it's not even funny.

And no one does Ulda anymore. Least not on Hellscream. And i'm nopt paying out 15k to be boosted for achieves.

This doesn't support what you were saying at all.

What we will probably do with really unusual mounts like Mimiron's Head and Invincible is make them a rare drop. The 100% drop rate won't make sense when you can overpower the content.

The twilight and black drakes would likely go the same route.

They're not talking about removing them, just reducing the drop rate.

OS+3D was difficult at the time. Whether Blizzard considers those two mounts to be truly "unusual" or not remains to be seen.

This actually makes me very happy since I for a long time thought (or I was scared into thinking) that they would remove the achievement drakes and I for one WANT a rustbound-protodrake or a Frostbrood vanquiser or the Twilight Drake. Because the drake mounts in Wrath are all to die for!

Twilight Drake anit a achievement drake. Just to clear things up. You can still loose the roll for it like i have so many times lol.

I know it ain't a achievement drake, I am just using it as a example.

You can still loose the roll, but at 85 you could easily just bring in the same group every week and clear it very easily. I could care less about rare mounts anymore. Although the whining about it not being 'special' anymore annoys me to no end.

Still, the Twilight Drake is something I've had my eye on for a while or the Black Drake.

I guess I should have kept reading; "most prestigious" mounts shouldn't include the twilight/black drakes. Yay.
