WoW Petopia Community

I saw over on Wowhead, they have an option to view the models of a creature in 3D. Do you foresee us ever getting that as an option here? I know some of the pet pictures could really benefit from a 3D view or what have you. And with Cata coming out, it'd be a perfect opportunity.

It would be a nifty addition that's for sure, but seeing as how each creature has a link to the Wowhead page counterpart it probably isn't necessary. I don't have a clue how that sort of feature is coded, but I'm sure Mania will have enough on her plate already.

It's a simple web-application. It wouldn't be too hard to add, but I think Mania would have to buy a license from whoever makes it, and that can get a bit costly. :(

Maybe a few different camera angles of each pet would suffice? It would kind of give the same effect, maybe? Although, it's not as fancy as being able to move it around and stuff...

I think it'd be awesome! I mean yeah, Veph is right, it's not hard to click through to wowhead, but when I browse petopia I'd sometimes love to be able to just turn the model a tiny bit. Besides, the pictures on petopia are bigger than wowhead's.

On the other hand, it does mean more work for Mania, and with the beta having just started we know how busy she'll be. *doesn't particularly envy Mania her job over the next months...*

What could maybe work is having the picture on the individual page for the model go to the model viewer on WoWhead.

Someone on the cataclysm forums put up a link that auto opens the viewer

That might be an easier solution. But, I dunno. Like I said, it was an idea, but whatever works. I'm sure at the moment, we're all gonna be too busy reading about the new pets and such!
