WoW Petopia Community

After scrutinizing the alpha forums and my incoming e-mail, I've put together a very preliminary, very incomplete page on Petopia that begins to talk about Cataclysm Pets.

This is a temporary set-up. As we learn more about hunters and hunter pets in Cataclysm, I'd like to do the same sort of pages I had for Wrath of the Lich King, which actual pet info, FAQs, etc. But I wasn't ready for this beta so this is what you get right now.

And of course, if you have any info -- please share it with the rest of us on these forums!

I'd love to know confirmations.. A friend of mine in Alpha mentioned that the Ghost Saber statues are gone. However, with them being items/doodads, they may not be in game yet.

She also told me that she took a peek out the Clutch Mother's way, but didn't see it --though the land in which she spawns is still there.... She said maybe it didn't spawn since it is a rare, and she didn't camp for it.

Not sure if this is a good/bad/neutral thing yet.


When may we expect a preliminary list of potentially/confirmed extinct pets?

I'm expecting more information tonight, but I don't know when I can get it all on Petopia. (Damned paid work!) In the meantime, though, I'll try to dump anything interesting here.

And let me reassure you that the Ghostsaber is fine. I saw a screenshot and everything. I'm not sure about the Clutchmother -- I'll see if anyone is willing to do some searching for us.

Man, I might have to forgo my distaste of the worgen, just so's I can get one of those mastiffs!

I suspect there will be more to get for other races later. According to one post I saw, they also occur in Western Plaguelands -- you just can't tame them there. But flagging beasts as tameable is often one of the last things they do in the beta.
