Retired /extinct????

Is there anything to be dug up on retired /extinct pets yet or anyone who can confirm anything??? I'm dying over here.

I'm trying very hard not to stress the beta testers who have contacted me so far, but I will see what I can do. Getting information on the rares especially will probably have to wait until there are lots more people in beta.

I'm Sorry, Zangor, but Blizzard *has* announced they started sending out invites. It is mentioned in the Beta announcement that went up on the WoW front page yesterday.

They posted on the forums shortly after that that no actual invites had gone out yet at that time. I started hearing rumors this morning about people getting them, though, so it sounds like they are quietly beginning.

Well there's 2 things here;

One- only in one quest does it say/hint Mazz could be a male. But then again most people always title things male, unless it's a car or boat then it's usually female. So it could be Mazz was really a girl.

And secondly, would assume if he is really a male and not the mother, then the mate was probably a run of the mill tallstrider.

I can confirm right now that Mazzy is in fact male, simply with the quest dialogue from the aptly named quest, "Mazzranache."

...As fortune would have it, while traveling across the plains, I encountered it, and it took a nasty bite from my shoulder. He was as terrible as my grandfather described.

Also, it's common in nature for the males of a species to be brighter colored than their female counterparts. So Mazzy's mate may be drabber in color.

Me too! Although that means his mate and/or their parents are dead.

I was thinking white or gray myself.

I don't care about Mazz since he isn't on the chopping block and there hasn't ever been the fear that he would be.
It's the Strider Clutchmother and others, like Echey, that I care about.

But will be interesting to see if Mazz was a female or what the story is.

Part of me is wondering if Mazz is the new Clutchmother. Meaning the Strider Clutchmoter skin will be made extinct and Mazz is taking that role over. Knowing Blizz wouldn't surprise me.

It isn't like it'd be hard for Blizzard to change quest info. As far as I am concerned, Mazz's sex isn't really a huge, continuity ending issue. So if they want to make him female and change dialogue, it's no skin off my nose.
