When is enough, enough?

Mostly making this as well if anyone heard about the Duggars, they just added a 19th child to their ranks. Last I read it was 17. And while I know they are good people and care for their kids, come on, 19 children? And the mother admits to wanting more? I mean there's nothing wrong with having a big family, I have an aunt who had multiple kids, but it mostly came about because it seems god decided to jynx her. Nearly all the kids she had came in sets of 2 and 3.
I read up that the Duggar's used birth control- but then stopped after a misscarrage, as if God was saying no I don't want you on the pill. Alright fine enough that would be traumatizing enough for anyone I guess. But there are other solutions outside the pill.
It just frustrates me, these people, these good people who have so much love it seems, decide to pop out 19 kids [and still want more] when they could have easily adopted half as many children that would have loved to have homes.
So really, when is enough, enough for some people?
Just aurg needed to rant.

Gah, I know a motivational poster that would fit so well here, but it's probably not appropriate to post. x)

Yeah, theyre very religious, in fact. they are members of whatls known as the "quiverfull" movement., the premise of which is that God will give them as many children as he deems fit. It's a movement made almost entirely of evangelical christians, and generally in the US, no forms of birth control are allowed.
I can go off on a fairly decent tangent/dissertation, but....those are the basics...

It seems that these are very kind people who love and care for the little people they have created BUT there are kids in Africa, China, Russia, South America, North America and any little country in between who need caring and loving homes but never have the chance!
All I ever wanted was 2 children, and planed on adoption, but ended up with 3 boys. They really weren't planed for but thems the dice I guess lol. I would love to have more babies through adopting but I know that would be beyond my ability. I wouldn't be a very good caregiver if I did that and it wouldn't be fair to the little ones.
This world isn't getting any bigger unfortunately. I feel it is a bit irresponsible bringing more children into existence in current day conditions. I'll admit that I sound like I'm being a hypocrite but not everyone's life follows their personal script and that is exactly true for me lol

...Well damn. >_> You'd think they're trying to set a damn record or something. I fear to know how much money they need to spend on all these kids. I remember my mother telling that both me and my brother were enough for her. I'd be even more afraid if they'll only stop when the women's fertility cycle slows down.
Also, I'm not big on kids, but adoption is always good. Several kids out there (Along with animals) need good homes. -nods- I'd adopt possible. Only because I'm dead scared of a child birth. >.<
Edit: Heh, after reading about them on Wikipedia, I doubt they could support that many kids without the little show they have. =P

Well, as much as it costs to raise that many kids, surprisingly they live entirely debt free...and have for a while, if I remember correctly. Michelle (the mother) is in her mid 40s, and I don't think many more kids will be on the way...lol
One of my hobbies is studying religions, and some of the more extreme and unconventional sects within them. And yes, people that believe this stuff do exist still, and it's not just 1 or 2 small groups. (Remember, the Amish are still around, too..)
Whether it's socially irresponsible or not to produce so many children while there are so many in the world in need is fairly irrelevant, since everyone has their own opinions on the matter...(not discounting your opinion on it because I share a similar view). As far as I'm concerned, at least, as long as they're able to raise these kids without neglect, and in a responsible manner...well, it doesn't really concern me, I guess. I'm not a fan of their particular method of upbringing or beliefs, but...
Sorry for rambling, but I'm really bored at work right now....lol
