Does anyone with access to Beta know if the Diseased Black Bears in WPL are still around in Cataclysm? They are/were right over the border from Tirisfal, in among the purplish spiders.

I'll love you forever if you can find out.

Hello, long time lurker here

I don't know about WPL, but I saw these bears in a video about the Tainted Scar in Blasted Lands. So the model still exists and is now called "tainted black bear".

Excellent! I can't see them close enough to be 100% (so if anyone has a total confirmation, shout) but it looks VERY much like our bears won't be gone

There are some in this video I can't really tell if the color is grey or black. This is the tainted scar(and a spoiler)

That first video had a brief moment right before he switches his UI back on where his mouse is over the bear in the foreground. Definitely a diseased black bear, imo.

Those aren't tameable if I remember correctly, from reading the spread sheet. But there are tameable lv 9 bears, I am pretty sure, implemented somewhere.

Well, does anyone know 100% if there ARE tameable ones?

The reason I ask is, I intended to re-tame my diseased black bear before Cataclysm. Now I'm not sure if I want to give up my other pets, so was going to wait for more stable slots before taming him again. The LAST thing I want, though, is to wait till Cata and then find there aren't any left!!

Uh... I am not sure, but for some reason those bears in Blasted Lands have a red aura around them now...

No clue when the guy on youtube went there but I was there about 3 days ago...

I am going back to have a looksie and see if they are tameable.

Hmm... not tameable, and no glow effect now... I am starting to wonder that if the bears I saw were someplace else...

I admit I am getting old, but I don't think my mind is slipping away that fast...

The ones in WPL are still there, but as of right now they are not tameable.

So they are still present, and there are even NEW ones, but none of them are tameable? O.o Why would they do that?

Are diseased wolves still tameable? Maybe they're making it so the sick animals can't be pets for reasons of political correctness? :S

...It would seem very PC for an undead hunter to have them though. But I suppose it depends on which world's version of PC we're talking about.

That's what I saw in the spread sheet. Can anyone in beta go there and see if they can really be tamed?

We know there's diseased wolves in Northshire that should still be tameable.

Plagued bears in WPL still exsist, as shown in one of Totalbiscuits movies on youtube...however, there is some speculation about the area being part of a phasing, to complete the cleansing of the place...If that is true then after phasing they may no-longer be found there...much like how the plethora of bonespiders disapeared.

It's the starting area for humans, so I doubt there were changes.

Just checked Mania's spreadsheet; they're still there and available.
