For those of you that love bears a lot and are quite worried about those black diseased bears that may go extinct in Western Plaguelands, you'll be happy to know that that particular bear skin has a new home in Blasted Lands. Here's the video as proof.

...and here I thought if I had the big clicks for bears or tried to click with one, I'd get myself one of those diseased bears just to save them.

Er as I said elsewhere, if I remember right, those are still untameable/are untameable bears. You'd need to check the Cata pet spreadsheet Mania posted in one of the threads somewhere, the diseased blackbear skin popped up several times. But afaik the only tameable skin sofar is I think, a lv 9 mob.

There is still Deathclaw on Bloodmyst isle. Hoever, he is aprt of a quest, and it seems like Blizz likes to make some quest mobs "untamable". So, for now,you can tame Deathclaw, but who knows what Blizz will do with him in the future

but where did these bears come from? isn't the nearest other bears in game all the way up at loch modan or something? along way away for bears to migrate.

i really really really hope they explain these sorts of things. its not vital to the storyline i'm sure, but it would be nice to have some sort of reasoning outside of "they appeared one day!"

So, in other words, this topic of mine is just another waste for me? I know that logically, if they're there, Blizz will have to make them tamable rather than mock us.

If I am gonna say the bright-blue scorpions will be fine after seeing that other video, will that be another waste of breath if they are gonna end up being untamable after all?

I wouldn't say it's a waste. I remember reading something about those bears, but heck if I remember which thread it was. Now, there's a thread just for them.

I don't think it's a waste of time. The video was great, and just cause they are untameable at this stage of the beta does not mean they will stay that way. I think they will probably be tameable. And even if they aren't, I enjoyed seeing the Halloween zone.
And, yeah, there are so many threads with so many mentions of that beast or this beast that I can't keep them straight at all!

Sweet bippy why is everyone jumping down my throat and ravaging it. I hate it when people put words in my mouth even more than when the blow up for the simplest thing [as I do that too, blowing up I mean].

And no, the bears don't have to become tameable as they could be tainted for a reason, IE to demonically filled/charged/diseased by fel energies to even count as 'beast' anymore. Like how Helboars seem to be Quilboar's from WC but they're now demonic creatures who aren't beast nor demon [imo].

Well, if the note of these bears has already been mentioned, though, then this topic can be closed. I just thought this was another piece of seemingly useful info that I thought I found first, but apparently not.

Deathclaw is brown, iirc.

It's worth noting as with all such matters that Blizzard have said they haven't done a proper pet pass yet, and flagging the tameable stuff is likely to happen later in the beta, so crossed fingers for diseased bears, silithid wasps and all the rest of them.

I can't seem to track down Mania's Cataclysm spreadsheet, that people have mentioned. Can someone chuck me a quick link. The spreadsheet in Mania's Arcania just seems to show the world as it is.

I've been having it worse, Ryai, really, and I don't mean to sound like a nasty Nancy to anyone. It's just been happening to me a lot lately. I just wish my ideas weren't so that, well, they've been in someone else's shoes and I unfortunately dug them up when I thought my idea was a first timer. I just want to help. It's nothing against you; I just wish to have this topic closed since it was another of someone else's idea I dug up. I am just no good with making ideas, let alone go into incognito.
