Decided to tame a Spiny Raptor on Raptor Rise on Lost Isles in hopes that it would be a color changer since there are 4 variations of it in the wild and in fact it is summoned as a random color when called (red, blue, green, or black)!

I know, but I like the color changers and this has 4. And unlike the Drakuru Raptors, this one also has red and green. It adds more variety without taking up more stable slots.

Actually while it's not a new skin per sey, it is now the second color changing raptor out there. But honestly, I wouldn't mind if they gave the purple skin its own unique mob and not make it color changer only.

And, for people who love all 4 skins but don't want 4 raptors, rejoice.

I think it would be nice if purple stayed purple, though :)

Thats true i think they should leave that as a purple one as the others you can easyly find in OL

Nah, leave the color changer, I'm actually getting interested in it, as I like 3/4 of the skins and I'd not mind the black so much since it would in theory only have a 25% chance to pop up compared to the 75% chances combined for the other skins. BUT- you are right. They need to make a purple exclusive raptor. Color changers are a nice novelty, but that purple skin is one I would kill to have a one of.

Interesting. If Blizzard decides to toss in a new skin instead, it's good to know that it'll likely still be a color changer.

Wait- these are the spiny raptor 'place holders'?

Now I'm partly worried/partly happy.

Partly happy at thought of possible color changing spiny raptor OR OL raptor. Partly worried if this means OL raptor = Spiny raptor :(

Well, we don't know yet, and probably won't know for sure until Cataclysm ships.

I definitely wouldn't worry about it too much at this point.

Ooh, pretty. It'll be nice to have a shot at spikey raptors before Outlands.

Don't really care for color changers, though. Makes it harder for me to get attached to it, if it always changes how it looks. Or I might go mad summoning/resummoning it to get the color I want, like I do with the worg pup mini-pet (I like the brown one).

Blame those very hunters.

They brought their outland raptors to Azeroth, and they didn't take the time to get them spayed and netured and then they went and put them in the daycares Stables and went running all around Azeroth not caring about the mysterious eggs that kept appearing.

I can neither confirm nor deny that those eggs came from my pack.
