tamed pet levels

I just thought to mention something that I haven't seen brought up yet. If it has feel free to flame my lameness. The search said that "pet level" was too common to search on. Go figure...

So in beta right now when a pet is tamed it levels to 3 levels below the hunter instead of 5. Does anyone know if this might go live or is it just a beta thing?

It will probably go live. I can imagine getting a pet from 80 to 85 as being worse than 75 to 80.

I hope this goes live!! Very needed. Hard to go into a dungeon with a pet 5 levels lower then you and have to keep healing it if it's getting beaten to death. Please make this live!!!!

I need to tell the tale of how I got a cat from level 6 to 70 some day.

Ohhhhh I remember those days... I think I nearly cried when they brought in the "pet autolevels to 5 levels under yours" with tears of joy. :D

Yup, I also remember the painstaking horror of finding a pet you suddenly wanted to tame but realizing it was only level 5. -.- Took *forever* to level.

I really loved when they added the 5-level-below cap, and now it looks to be 3. Honestly I almost wonder why they bother keeping a level difference in at all, but I suppose it's just another aspect that separates Hunter pets from Warlock minions and such. I do like the mentality that you have to bond with your pet and train it to make it more powerful, but when it's up to just 3 levels it seems almost redundant to keep in.

Oh well, either way it'll be nice to see it shortened a bit more.

Level 80-85 is going to be more painful than 70-80. I think those three levels will feel worse than the five levels we have now. :)

Hehe, true they might. xD Still nothing a few randoms can't fix hopefully though. ;)

also, 3 levels difference means a world of fewer misses and resists.

Oooh I like it. I really don't mind the five levels right now, but imagine when it's 25 pets you have to level up to you? Oh god. /headache.
