I'm almost certain there is an Old Blanchy in that garrison in Grizzly Hills. She lives on!

She's also still alive in the Old Hillsbrad Instance in the Caverns of Time. So fear not..this noble steed will forever remain in WOW somewhere at some time.

Heck maybe if people morn her death Blizz could bring her back as an Undead Steed..or a Ghost Steed! Yeah..yeah..make her like the TLPD..a rare mount you have to kill in order to get the mount to use.

Now that would be a mount I would happily stalk.

She could look like normal Old Blanchy on the ground and have semi-transparent Pegasus wings when flying! Blizz, make it so! Viva Old Blancy!

Yep.
Its part of an Alliance quest chain. I think there's also the death of an important Horde character that will occur but I've only seen one suspicious pic.
