Pet scaling
The plan is for your pets to scale 100% with your stats. In fact, group buffs don't even work on pets any longer so that they don't double dip from those buffs. (Source)

Aye, a BoK on the hunter will mean a BoK on the pet too. Supposedly, they're being made immune to buffs, like neutral NPCs.

I dunno about anyone else, but I'm excited about this because it means less work in the prep room for arena!

It does sting a lil' that our pets won't be considered as individuals anymore, though; just an extension of ourselves.

Pets share their raidbuffs with warriors, so I don't really see your point. Even then, buffing a pet tends to be useless, a three percent buff to three percent of our DPS is tiny.

Pets tend to get neglected for spot buffs if they die, though.

And it's less a numerical reason for me than a warm fuzzy for my baby being included.

(That said, I know I guy who's held up raids because his pet didn't have might/kings...)

And actually, every little bit helps. That blessing of might/kings goes a long way in making my pet hit harder, or stay alive better. I actually like this way better, since I can't number the times I've been given a buff, but my pet hasn't.

And Kalli, maybe it's just me, but my pet has alway's just been an extension of myself. I love them dearly, and they are all unique individuals to me, but they are also a very, very important weapon in my arsenal.

I like it... it allows us some more choices in gear for pet tanking that are meaningful. That +400 stam tanking cloak? I'll take that...

Yeah, I guess them not needing their own buffs doesn't REALLY change anything....just in my mind. xD I'll get used to it.

Also, this means if we get bresed, our pets WILL get rebuffed too. I was unfortunately painfully aware of that last night....curse you, random lag spikes!

I understand Kalli. I do like the idea of my pet being more of an individual. Buuuutttt this means that our pet's will get buffed more often when not in raid enviroments, and they'll be covered for rebuffs, so I think it's positive all around. PLUS, 100% scaling! Schweet!

I kind of like the possibility of having a pet with a healthlevel roughly similar to mine.

Yeah this change is brilliant. I'm sick of nagging people to buff my pet only to be ignored or met with derision. As it seems that many buffing class players don't think that buffing the pet is worthwhile, especially for non-BM Hunters ("you're not BM, your pet doesn't do much DPS") changing the system is a stroke of awesomeness for Hunters.

That's what I think, especially with the merging of so many buffs. Though it does kind of irk me that paladins and shaman will get double benefit from might now.

One thing to consider, if yer in a raid and yer pet dies on a boss, when you rez him, he won't be weakened by not having, fort,kings,might, etc. etc. -Unknowne-Elune
