What do you collect?

Most people have this annoying habit of collecting things and displaying them prominently in their homes as if the rest of us find it fascinating. I humbly admit I am one of them. For me, the passions of collecting stuff almost rival WoW. I have a fairly decent comic collection, a fairly decent football card collection, and what I consider to be a bitchin Spawn figures collection. I also have a gazillion DVDs but I don't think that counts as a collection although, there ARE collections of movies within it. So what do you collect?

I collect dust. It's all over my desk. I have a rather large amount of burnt DVDs without cases, and some half-dead flowers.

Er, video game's.....I have a lot of old, classic games that I am proud of, that are hard to find. Like a first run copy of Final Fantasy VII, Xenogears, Legend of Legaia....the original Parasite Eve....the list goes on. *Laughs* And back into SNES and NES territory! With a fairly pristine Final Fantasy I and Dragon Warriors 1 and 4!

I collect a few different things. I have a thing for coffee mugs or espresso cups that are 'different' or funny. I don't have a bunch or even a lot but I have several.
Frog knickknacks are another thing but these aren't out. A few are in spot where they'll match.
My prize items are however antique fountain pens and pocket watches. This two things I've collected since I was really young. I have some that are 100+ years old and perfect shape. They're all in perfect - functioning shape though.

I used to collect model horses when I was younger, but they took up a lot of space and I sold most of them when I ran out of cash in college.
Now I collect realistic-looking reptile art, but finding pieces that look realistic and don't cost hundreds of dollars is difficult, so I only about 4 decent pieces. (My family keeps giving me cutesy not-at-all realistic things, though, which is annoying.) And I don't display them because I keep forgetting to unpack them.

I collect bows. Being an archery nut this seemed a logical progression for my love of the sport. I have several recurve bows, most of them take-down style (bows that can be broken down for travel or storage) but at least one or two are all single pieces. I have a lovely longbow too. I hope to add a horsebow to my collection

Still this is an expensive thing to start a collection of and so the next step, given time and a little space is to start making my own bows and get into arrow making too.

I have a bow I made in technics class back in ninth grade somewhere... The actual bowstring is probably used somewhere else by now, but the metal parts should be fine. Now I want to make some arrows and actually shoot with it...

I have a huge American Coin collection... I constantly talk about it, but my OCD doesn't help. I also collect rocks, shells, raccoons and raccoon related things, knick knacks (my room is literally full), books, and so many other things. The amazing part is that it is all still organized down to the last pebble. I also like bright colors. Lol

I have a lot of books -- between my husband and I we have about 8 full height bookshelves full -- but that's not a collection. That's just something to read.
Anyway now that I have a Kindle I buy all my new books on the Kindle to save space. I have about 180 books on there now.
Hmm .. you know, taking out the ones I haven't read yet that means I'm averaging about 20 books a month. Maybe I should read less.

What a coincidence, so do I
I used to collect pewter dragons (and other dragon statues) but I haven't in a few years due to lack of space. I have a rather large box of them in my closet somewhere, though.
I collect manga and books, but like Mania said, I don't entirely count it as a collection. I just can't give away books when I'm done with them.
Hrm...buttons and bumper stickers...my bag is covered in buttons (the little round ones with silly sayings) and my computer and car are plastered with stickers (again with silly sayings). In fact, let's just step this up and say I collect silly quotes and things with silly quotes on them.

I like collecting art supplies, even if I won't use them anytime soon they're always tempting. Artbooks of various kinds or books that can be used as references are also something I collect. If digital stuff counts then I have years of photos off the internet, artwork and screenshots, the majority is inspirational stuff. Photography is another type of collection. I'm running out of room from all these high res images. >_<

I wouldn't say I'm a collector but somehow, some stuff seems to be getting more and more.
- Pen & paper RPG rule books
- fantasy novels
- miniatures/teams for Blood Bowl
- refusals for practical training
