Withers appearently starts off bigger then most vanity pets but slowly "withers" down in size until you bring him near water. I think thats really awsome!

I've a feeling theres going to be alot of mech-bunnies hopping around shortly after Cata.

According to Breanni, it's an alli only quest.

Unfortunately it seems to be that way, though I'm hoping for a Horde equivalent.

Withers is rewarded from a long quest chain in Lor'danel, a new Alliance city in Darkshore. He therefore appears to be an Alliance-only pet. He's awarded to players by a Night Elf named Volcor for completing the final quest in the series, Remembrance of Auberdine.

We remain confident that the developers will insert a Horde-only equivalent of some sort, possibly even the same pet. We'll keep you posted as we continue to receive reports from beta testers.

I'm sure they will; they've gotten very aware of the faction balance when it comes to vanity items. Whether it'll be the same pet, I don't know.

Oooooh A bunny! And.. um... Undead raptor babies? o_o They are cute but I can only hope they won't smell weird! ^-^

This is why I dislike Allies! They get trees for pets! JK... I play Alliance... And I only hate them when they kill me over and over. But when I read the post by Breanni, I was saddened. Withers would be a cool and interesting pet to have.

Ugh i hope us hordies get one. Remmber all that venomhide fuss >.> I don't want to have to wait years for us to get one then when we do alot of alliance guys on the wow forums started makeing threads about how blizz hates them cos they didnt get a mount WTF. I don't want that to happen really.

The rumor I've heard is that the undead raptor pets are related to Archaeology in some fashion.

*snorts* They've had the Winterspring trainer faction mount for longer than we've had the Vemonhide raptor mount (I was either too low or hadn't started playing when it was out in Vanilla I guess...) not to mention they already had the Sprite Darter Hatchling waaay before we were able to get it. (I remember getting it on my Night Elf and freaked out because there was a pet I didn't know about... Then found out I couldn't get it on my Hordies.) But yea, they had better give us a pet! *shakes fist at Blizzard* Something super cute but still deadly looking!

Also, since there is a Fire pet (a.k.a the Scorchling), what would happen should we summon the Scorchling next to Withers? Since he is wood and when he goes without water, he... withers. Just curious. *points at the Skunker and Calico cat mess*
