So I have a question for those of you who have gotten your black nagrand pvp talbuks after Wrath came out. I've farmed up just about all of the research tokens I need for both versions of the mount... now all I need is 170 of the battle tokens. I'm horde side on my server and the alliance rarely attack halaa these days so my chances at farming them up are few and far between. Do any of you know of any fairly quick and/or easy ways to earn them on servers (like mine) where nagrand pvp is pretty much dead even during peak hours? I can be patient and watch for any attacks on halaa but I'm definitely open to ways to make the grind go by a little quicker. ;D

The best is probably to make a lowbie of the other faction, and asking in trade for someone to help you.
Then you take turns in killing each other.

Hehe, well I teamed up with another member of these forums to kill each other for about 3 hours or something until we each had all the tokens we needed. xD

I've heard you're technically not supposed to do that, but if you just keep it on the down-low and don't announce it all over the place you should be able to find someone to do it with you.

I have heard that it's perfectly okay to organize a a big PvP battle between factions with a large number of people on the realm forums though, so you could try that too.

If you do team up and find somebody to help you out, there are a few nice sections around Halaa that aren't in the city proper down in the water canals. If you stand there, you're technically 'in' Halaa, and will earn pvp tokens, but it's unlikely anybody will notice and/or report you since you're out of sight. Try going there, it helps.

The dark skin will always be my favorite. I should go grab one eventually.

So I finally got off my lazy ass and finished doing this. Sorta.

I've had the battle tokens for a couple of weeks now, and almost all the research tokens I needed. In fact I had 19, which meant I only needed 1 more token for the Black War Talbuk. So I did a little grinding for that. Then I had to recapture Halaa, which took over an hour, but I did it solo And then I bought my beauty!





I love the war talbuk! Now all I gotta do is grind about 150 more powders so I can get my 15 research tokens for the regular dark riding talbuk and I've got both my beauties

My mother has this level 80 ally mage, a hunter, a druid, and a DK so when one of them had a rezz time of about 2 min I would hop on the other and start killing that one. So much fun was had, of course I would make sure she had all of her armor off and stuff but it was hilarious. XD

If Halaa is controlled by the opposite faction and you're working with someone to get the marks, have them bank all their durability gear and stand in the Halaa gy, they can take spirit res so no waiting, you can get a kill every 5/6 seconds this way, really fast.

Yay congrats Velk! I Always thought the talbuks look really cool with Nelf riders.

It really does seem to suit her Plus we have the same color scheme, lol.

Grats Velkyn! I still haven't worked up the motivation to finish up the rest of the Research Tokens I need for the War Talbuk. To be honest though I think I prefer the non-armored version. They're the same speed, and without armor I can appreciate the beauty of the animal more. I really love Talbuks, and while the armor is pretty awesome looking I think the natural ones are really neat. ^^

I'll get those tokens some day though. xD Guh, I'm just terrible at anything that requires a grind.

I found a nice gnome i could endlesly kill and i in turn let him own me aswell. It worked out fine.

Haha, I lucked out on the research tokens. I had already been saving up powders when I was grinding my Kurenai rep up on ogres, so I had a whole stockpile, almost enough for the war talbuk. I figured I'd get the more expensive one out of the way first.

I might end up going back and just grinding ogres again for warbeads AND powders; then I can hand the beads into the Consortium for rep with ethereals, and the powders will convert to tokens for my riding talbuk.

Btw a tip for anyone in the future- if it's not been fixed. a Warlock killing himself with hellfire = token for warlock and token for ANYONE in the party, aslong as warlock is pvp flagged and you all are near and at Hala. I did this on Zeldei when Aria needed about 15 more tokens or so for her talbuk.

That's....a great idea. >_> I have a few buddies who play both sides. I even have one higher level Alliance character. I shall have to see if my buddy and I can do this!

I've heard the Warlock hellfire trick was nerfed a while back while I was reading up on strategies for this. I can't confirm it, but I'm pretty sure you can't do it anymore.

That's a shame, that's how I got most of my badges. Like... Ten or so? Yeah...

Yeah, this was fixed a while ago according to reports on Wowhead. Blizzard doesn't want people taking advantage of glitches in order to gain tokens. Which is just silly in my opinion; if they want genuine pvp going on there, they should update Halaa or make the tokens available by doing other more up-to-date pvp quests.
