Tree choice?

I am not sure if I missed a memo on this, or Blizzard hasn't said anything and people on another forum are engaged in wishful thinking.
Has Blizzard said anything about allowing any pet to be Tenacity/Cunning/Ferocity?
There was a comment that Ghostcrawler made about all pets doing the same DPS. But I think he's also said that the talent trees are not going to be substantially changed. And I know that there IS a difference between Ferocity and Cunning pet DPS.
I'm confused!
And I really would just love to use my white windserpent again when raiding. I went and retamed her recently.

We don't know yet. Blizzard hasn't done the pass on pet's, so we don't have any information beyond being told that all of our pet's will get a debuff, a basic attack, and that exotics would be a little bit better then normal pets.

Also note that the passive dps equalization is before talent selection. So two untalented pets will do around the same dps. but after speccing them it could be different.

Not until 75/78, that's when Palla says the other masteries come into affect. But since MM and SV would also be getting them, it's not much help for BM tbh.
I did quote you right, right Palla? <.<
Anyways that;s no longer true atm- since pets scale at 100% and we have no direct +pet boosting talents, haste not included, nor FI since that boosts EVERYONE, all pets on all hunters do all damage the same.

Yup, you got it Ryai. The difference will come in from Frenzy ((15% haste after five attacks land)) for BM and in Hunter VS Wild for SV until that point. HvW is an AP boost of 30% of the hunters stamina, and we are supposed to be getting a lot of stamina now, while Frenzy takes five attacks to get up to speed.
I think Gim was talking about pet talent's, tho'. I could be wrong.

I was indeed palla.
I meant that actual pets have equalized dps with the buff/debuff attacks, until they are specced, which could cause a difference in dps.

Again, that's the thing- all pets will be the same, for all hunters, [given that most specc dps/cunning as dps and tenacity as tanking etc],
UNTIL BM can get those last 4 points, and even then, the last 4 points we use never really were that 'game breaking' to me anyways.

Well, the thing is, ferocity and cunning pets have different talents which result in different damage output. They can give each family a different buff or debuff, but if cunning pets don't do as much damage as ferocity once talented, that could still be problematic.
Windserpents used to be a fun pet when they were high damage and could use lightning breath as a focus dump. As cunning with a cooldown on lb... They have not been a compelling choice.

Ugh, tell me about it. I LOVED my windserpent. Then they nerfed him all the way to hell. -.-

It would be awesome to be able to choose the tree you use for a certain pet...that way everyone and their brother wouldn't feel that they HAVE to bring a dumb wolf into raids/dungeons...NOT That I don't like wolves, they're neat and all, but I prefer exotics, and like bringing them into raids with me instead, but always get chewed out for it.

If you're BM and raiding right now, devilsaurs are THE pet to use. Can chew 'em out right back.
