Found another New one that wasn't even in the spreadsheet.



In Tanaris, Center of map by a little camp. Camping him again to see spawn time, think he's rare. Also on the spreadsheet I put ? for Appearance, havn't mastered that yet and don't want to get it wrong, if you know, please update that infor for me .

When ate they finally going to make a giant scorpion raid boss named Scorpio? Needs to be with some celestial themed raid...

Not just that, it'll be the only red scorpid outside of an instance. This is shaping up to be a good sign for other rares possibly too.

So far yes. There were the Scorpid Reavers in Thousand Needles, buuuut...who knows in Cata. x)

Nothing in Thousand Nedles at this build but Water Maybe they all washed down to Tanaris or out to sea. So far at this time I havn't seen one mob tameable in Thousand Needles.

I can't see the image (or its name), for some reason. But it's a rare red scorpid? Nice.

Try hitting the refresh button worked on my other comptuer. And name is Scorpitar, 47 Rare in Tanaris.

I did refresh and, oddly, it did nothing. o_O Hm. Ah well! It's working now. Nice find.

I had to right click on where it said 'Image', then go to View Image. After that it loaded fine.

Should be, as far as I know, there are only 4 with the scorpianskinred and they are Cleft Scorpid and Deadly Cleft Scorpid in Uldaman, Deep Stinger in Blackrock Depths and Scorpid Reaver in Thousand Needles, so this will be the only one that is not in a instance. and the Scorpid Reaver is gone... Thousand Needles has no pets at this time that are tameable, it's all underwater.

This reminds me a whole lot of Scorponok from the first Transformers movie. How he burrows under the desert sands in Qatar after getting his but (almost literally) blown off. It might just be that little old Transformers nut in me seeing something that isn't really there and this is just some random desert scorp... or could it be a little nod from Blizz to the first movie and Scorponok? xD

I don't really like scorpions, but it's nice to see they are starting to implement rares in places that otherwise had not seen those before.

Is Deathclasp, over near AQ, tameable? It's red and is outside the instance. Actually, I'm pretty certain I've run into more new red scorpids (Duneclaw Burrowers?) in the beta, but I can't remember where. I'll see if I can find them again.

Aha! I finally found them again. Duneclaw Burrowers (tameable) use the same red skin and are found in Tanaris in the beta. Some wander just to the south of Gadgetzan and to the west of that into the Abyssal Sands.

There's also another red, named scorpid (not rare, used in a quest) there. Its name is Gargantapid and it lives in a cave on the northern border. But it's not tameable because it's classed as a humanoid for some reason. Maybe the developers have been watching the Human Centipede :S
