Issues posting responses

I've been having issues posting replies to threads both when quoting someone's post and not. After typing my response and hitting [submit] it goes right back to the screen where you can type in a reply and my reply does not get posted. Today I was trying to post a response in the BM spec thread and hit [submit] 12 times and finally gave up. I then re-entered the thread and was able to post my response. This has been going on for about the last week.

I only have that problem when writing my answers takes a very long time but the 2nd try to post it always worked for me.

Strange.

Did you try clicking "preview" sometime during typing? I've been told that might help to keep the connection between browser and server or something like that.

I have the same issue Kath described. If I open a gajillion tabs (which I've been known to do >.>) and post a reply in one of the tabs I read later rather than sooner, the connection is timed out. I just press submit again and it posts it. I've never had to click it more than once though. Weird... :?

Do you get any sort of message at all after you hit submit (form is invalid, another response has been posted, etc)?
What browser are you using?
Do you have cookies turned off, do you know, or are you browsing incognito?
Do you have any problems logging in or out?

I usually run with only 1 tab open. I am running Internet Explorer 8 on Windows Vista. I have my password and screen name saved so I don't log in or out. No error message at all. Happens both when using the quick reply and the full editor. I have not tried the preview trick, I'll try that when it happens again. I'll try and submit this an dlet you know if it happens again.

That worked flawlessly. Next time it happens I'll try and look for more information. Now that I think of it, they were fairly long responses I was typing when it happened. Maybe it did time out.

Hmm .. I think it should have at least given you a message in that case. I'll poke into it the next time I have a chance, but at least you have a work-around for now.

I find most of the time this happens with a timeout. I have gotten to the point that I will copy what I type before I submit so that I don't have to type it over again. I like the idea of doing a preview every once in awhile to keep the login on.
