A reminder that classes aren't done yet

Class Development Status
I'd say that at this point in time, the trees that are farthest along are mage, rogue, shaman and warrior. Paladin would be close except that things have changed so much that we still have to move talents around quite a bit.

Hunter Redesign?
No, hunters are not undergoing any kind of massive redesign. We have spent our efforts lately on trying to make sure focus works as intended in both aspects and at low and high level. We're not there yet. We'll work on the talent trees a little more when we feel like focus is where we want it to be, since that will affect the talent design.
Also yoinked from MMO
It's nice to see some blue acknowledgement on the subject.
We've got a LONG road ahead of us.

The Hunter Survival tree really needs a lot of work, I think BM and Marks look pretty good right now, and I'm pretty happy with the Shaman trees, though Elemental is a bit bloated given the efforts to pare down the trees.

Thanks, Kalliope. That's a good reminder.

Ooh, and I found another related one, which I've added to the OP, regarding hunters in particular.

Well, hope the BM tree gets some shiny new things (hint Cobra Shot buffs)

Well Cobra Shot now extends Serpent Sting by six seconds which is up from three, so that's a good buff.

Is the upper limit still there?

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I read that previously,
"Hmmm so how far can you extend it...? can you extend it...?"

I do wonder at Blizzard's approach to the pets. Maybe we're getting the impression that BM isn't working well because they're waiting on the pet work until late in the beta. It would make sense due to Beast Masters being so reliant on the sidekick.

I've said this before and completely agree.
I'm glad to know that they're working on focus mechanics first for ALL SPECS before tinkering.

Long as they replace Intimidation as BM's "signature" sometime soon.
I'm guessing they're also waiting to implement new pet families until they start doing the pet pass. So far all the new tames are existing families with new skins.

With 25 pets possible for all hunters I would imagine you'll get some new families, a few new ones have been seen already so I guess there is work being done in that front as well. We have a long road ahead as mentioned before. So far I'm enjoying the journey.

Just because BM hunters passively get intimidation at level 10, that doesn't make it BM's "signature." BM is defined by reliance on a powerful pet, which is now obtained upon character creation. Plus kill command will also be obtained at low levels - while it's not unique to BM hunters, it will do a lot more for them than hunters of the other specs. Exotic pets are still the signature of BM hunters. No other spec can have them or their special abilities. We haven't seen a pass on pets yet, so exotics may be getting further buffs that we haven't seen before. But that will all come after focus is balanced.

I think they will kill Camouflage.. Being able to go stealth and NOT have a reduced movement speed ? I dunno but I can't see this staying.
Build 12803
Camouflage no longer reduces your movement speed and no longer increases the damage done by your next attack.

It's not real stealth, though.

True.. I'm curios to see where they plan to go with this. I think it's kinda silly for a hunter to be able to stealth but that's just me. Also wondered how the pet would play a part in this if it's not a cat ?

It's not real stealth. You can be seen physically, but not targetted directly for attacks. It's a new mechanic that they're bringing in with Cata.
So the visibility of the pet doesn't matter at all.

And even if it did, more than just cats are getting prowl, it seems!

It's gonna be interesting to see this in action. I plan to lvl up the hunter first then get some boa and then work on the druid 2nd. My lock..If I can train for the new skills without leveling to 85 then I wont lvl to 85 atleast not for a long time. Not to crazy about my lock. Lost interest in him.

I'm pretty sure they're planning to make it real stealth... Otherwise they would have said that it isn't.
But yeah, that seems overpowered.

If they make Camouflage real Stealth I can see the reasons for the changes, but as it stands the new Camouflage has only some PvP potential, no PvE at all.
