I hear stags have diets currently in the beta which means they might become tamable. Has anyone found any other non-tamable beast species with diets?

It's been reported some of the serpents have diets too- the vanity pet model serpents.
Tbh I hope this means they'll get some revamping for the models, as much as I do love them and love the thought of possibly taming them, the oldness just screams atm.

Oh man, I've been wanting to a stag since I first encountered Ashenvale as a baby hunter.
An I love the realistic snake models.

I've checked out a lot of hooved beasts in the game (stags, talbuks, rams, shoveltusks) and so far the only one I've noticed that has a diet attached is the
Whitetail Stag in Darkshore. Doesn't mean there aren't others I haven't noticed, but the majority of them are still clearly diet-free. So it could be that they're just using it as a test-case at this point, or it could be a bug. Notice on that Wowhead link that the database thinks it's actually a bear. That would explain the diet. That could be a bug or it could be deliberate for testing as they don't have a new family to put it in yet.
As for the snakes, I've noticed a couple of low-to-ground (i.e. realistic) model serpents with diets. More than one in Tanaris. Hopefully they'll be added soon. A lot of hunters who want to use snakes in groups may be shy of using one of the upright cobra models as they tend to get in the way.

On this
list of bear NPCs, I can only spot two that aren't actually bears: the Whitetail Stag and the Darkshore Stag. I scanned the various lists of pet families on cata.wowhead and the only other odd one I found was a hyaena named Slaverjaw is classed as a scorpid.

Could someone check to see if any basilisks have diets?

I've checked quite a few and none that I've seen do.
Unless they've created a basilisk pet family already, they'd probably do what they did with the stags and stick them in a current family. If so, they'd show up in an out-of-place family on Wowhead like the stags did.
