In reviewing both of the threads discussing Grunter and Soriid's new beta skins, as far as I could tell it seemed as though all of the screenshots and reports were from people who had tamed them on beta; do we know yet what happens if you tame them on live and then import your character into beta?

Considering Grunter's respawn timer it may make the most sense to try this with Soriid or Lupos - my guess is that whichever way it's going to go (1-pet retains its original skin or 2-pet morphs into its new skin), probably will represent how it's going to work for all of these guys when the Cata patch goes live...

But either way I'd love to get some confirmation on this and I'm sure anyone else doing the Grunter camp-a-thon (and possibly looking at having to abandon a well loved pet in the bargain) feels the same.

Soriid and Lupos have already been tested. Soriid's not even tameable on the beta. Both changed.

Grunter is in the process of being tested, I believe.

Thanks... I'd seen the screenshots, but wasn't sure whether they were of Soriids that had been tamed in beta, or if they were tamed on live and then moved over to beta.

But something like this is gonna spread no matter what - Shinryu posted a link to a very cool youtube by Keila8 (I think that was her name), who was highlighting a bunch of the pets we are talking about here, including Grunter and some other rares...

Soriid was not among them.

Not tameable on beta.

Actually, I am an idiot - since he can't be tamed on beta, ipso facto everyone's screenshots had to be from tames copied from live to beta.

There's a TON of threads at the moment and information is getting lost in the shuffle; it's not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last.

Besides, we got a new pic out of it. Look at how small the buildings are!

I was the guy who put up the first shots (that I know of anyway) of Soriid on beta servers on these forums.

I am in the process of TRYING to tame Grunter on live to do the same thing, but I have yet even seen him on live. Winny actually tamed him on live, but as far as I know isn't going to copy that character over to the beta server again... even though I have copied my 71 Draenai Hunter (Misfortune) over about 3 times already "testing" pet skin changes... I am running out of copies!!

I am more interested in trying to find, or find out about, the blue scorpid in the beta... because I seriously can not afford to drop two out of three favorite pets (Aotona, Skoll, and Arcturis) considering I have already dropped Loque'nahak and Gondria on my 80 Orc Hunter (Tapeworm) so I can get the white/brown Silithid and Soriid. Dropping two more would net me Grunter and the Blue Scorpid, but I am HOPING we get to see the increase of Stable slots pre-Cata... but I doubt it.

After everything is said and done if I MUST choose between getting Grunter or the Blue Scorpid pre-Cata (and dropping probably Skoll) I am going to choose the Blue Scorpid... and hope Grunter is still tameable AFTER the beta and skin change.

Okay this post made me thinking. I didn't believe soriid would actually change into that very unique pet. So i wouldn't have sacrificed one of my pets for him. When i found this threath whatsoever i seriously thought" I can have that fcking nice thing!' Well gondria died for a good cause. Amen

Yup. That's why I'm less worried about him, and more about the other ones, that aren't tameable. You know which one...
