Alrighty! Taigi has officially hit level 74, which means it's time to hunt everyone's favorite DPS bear!

I'm not a fan of bears normally, but I think Arcturis will fit Taigi very well, seeing as she's a tauren.

I've gone and parked her at the spawn point. There was already a level 80 dwarf hunter their waiting, and I didn't want to intrude if he'd already started camping, so I just logged her out and cleared her cache. I'll pop in every once and a while and check in on him; if nobody's waiting I may just AFK with NPCscan up and read a book or something while I wait, to stake the place out.

*huggles* Good luck! ^_^ I'll keep an eye out for you and probably come keep you company at some point. That hill was a second home for me after all the hunters I spent time with camping him. x)

I knew I wanted Arc, but I was surprised how attached I became to the fella... I actually had to consciously remind myself to use other pets. (Having MM or SV as an off spec is a great way to do so, btw. ) My poor Clutchmother and Skoll were both completely neglected for a long while there...

Lol, so this was a HILARIOUS camp, actually.

I jumped back on and saw that the dwarf who was at the spawn point was gone, so I decided to wait around for a few hours. I figured I'd be in for a long night of camping.

Shaon and Veph--my fellow high priestesses from back in the Humar camping days--decided to come by and keep me company for the fun of the camp. Like old times! I pulled out my P Dawg pet and we all marked the skunks in the area.

Literally five minutes after we all sat down to wait, Arcturis spawned! NPCscan went nuts, I ran over and did my thing, and the tame went off without a hitch. He didn't even break the trap like I'd seen a lot of people report on WoWhead.

What I figured would be weeks of camping turned out to be five minutes. Lol.

But now I've got my new friend, and I really adore him! And thanks to Veph and Shaon for offering to hang out with me anyway even if the party didn't last very long XP

Haha, grabbed two quick screenies while you were taming him. It's almost impossible to see Arcturis in that frost trap, but you can kind of make out his face if you look closely. x)

And grats again. Epic tame was epic.

Haha, I'm still glad I got him all the same, plus we were able to inform another hunter what time he spawned at so I felt helpful too

And I already love him lots...I've never been partial to bears before, but he's so ROLY-POLY...and he shoots LASERS....

EDIT: Thanks for the screenies, Veph XD I was kinda too jittery to remember to do it lol. And busy ranting about HOW THAT WAS SO AWESOME.

Haha, I love gchat. <3 That top shot is amazing, he was really caught mid-pounce. Face first, flying into your flank, just to be caught in the ice... Awesome!

And yeah after everything that I'd read on Wowhead about taming him, with the pounce and all, I was coming up with half a dozen strategies for how to deal with what. What if he broke trap? What if somebody showed up and tried to gank him? What if he pounced right OVER my trap? What if what if what if...

And nothing went wrong at all XD I even did everything in the right order, which is not usually the case with me and SB tames. Drop trap, Concussive shot, TAME, bam bam bam. I even had time to rant in GChat WHILE TAMING how awesome this was XD

I'm beginning to think I've got a lot of luck with these guys though. I stumbled across Loque without even aiming to hunt him, caught Skoll on my second serious camping pass, and got Arc just a few minutes after I seriously settled down to camp him...lulz. Not complaining.

I plan to level with this guy throughout much of Northrend now. I think we'll become fast friends. It's much easier to bond with a pet that way, I think.

EDIT: In retrospect it's probably a good thing it didn't take hours to tame this guy. Otherwise, me, Veph and Shaon might've started another new religion....

Huge grats on your amazing luck! I still think the skunks helped, though.
But...you killed Alfonse! That stag...he kept me company thru the long hours of camping Arc for my husband. /mourn Alfonse

My deepest apologies. I couldn't help but try my bear out once I had him....>>;;;;

Also, just an update to say this guy now has a name (or will, once I log in). The guildies gave a lot of good suggestions (thanks all ) but none of them seemed to click for him.

Then as I was going to bed I was listening to music, and a song by one of my favorite bands, Sonata Arctica, came on. And I thought...oh...DUH. Arctica! It fits him perfect, plus it's close to Arcturis' original name, so he can still keep the nickname 'Arc' even XD.

(I'd name him Sonata, but then I'd be stealing from Forumite-Sonata here XP )
