Black gem cat skin to test

This is one I definitely can't check out, at least not without a large group. If anyone has made a bunch of friends on a beta realm and can convince them to run Ulduar up to Auriaya...

There is an NPC called "Swarming Guardian" that, if tameable, would be the only "black gem" cat pet in the game. It's the same skin that Soo-holu uses in the Oracles quest in Shol.

Unfortunately there's never been any info as to whether it's actually tameable or not. It's level 81, so it's never been tameable up to now anyway.

Getting access to it is a bit painful. You have to reach Auriaya in Ulduar and start the fight. Her two companion cats are NOT this skin. During the fight she summons a bunch of much smaller cats that are Swarming Guardians, however, so you'd have to check it out and try to tame it while the rest of your party is fighting the boss.

Good luck to anyone who manages to try this!

There's an NPC in Storm Peaks who also has this cat model as a pet, it's in the area where the earthern are at and you can get quests from them. The only problem is the cat is friendly (to ally anyways, not sure on horde, but I think so too). It's the stable master's pet there.

Even if tamable, you would never be able to actually tame a swarming guardian because they have no aggro table and randomly switch targets. That is why everyone stands together to AE them when they spawn.

Could you not freeze trap one?
Plenty of haste boosts!

It would have to be targeting the hunter when frozen.

Helped a guildie tame a pet a few days ago, it was hibernated and everything. But since it was attacking me instead of the hunter taming it when put to sleep, tame kept getting cancelled.

You'd have to time it very carefully...

Not to mention, does CC work on them?

It should be possible to tame them, if you go in alone. They can switch targets while CCed, like other mobs, so you have to make sure they only have the hunter on their aggro tables. Try wiping the raid and then feigning quickly. :P

Wiping+feigning would reset Auriaya though, which would make the cats despawn. I'm fairly sure even a trapped cat would despawn.

I meant so the raid dies, but you don't, so you're alone with the boss and the kitties for a while. TBH, it seems impossible to me, but it also seems to be the only way.

Getting to hard to reach places and doing the impossible is what I do best!
I would gladly tackle this mission...if I had beta. *cough*
But sadly as of this moment I lack a Key. .-.

So first up we need to find out if its tameable/trapable. Easy as beastloring one and dropping a trap during that phase.

If it does turn out that they are tameable/trapable then its possible. Maby standing away from the group and laying a trap so when one lunges for you it gets caught and you tame it while your still targeted. Might require haste pots and a bloodlust... if its possible.

Haste has not had any effect on tame beast since a few months after the ghost wolf incident.

Please explain what you mean. I have had WAY to much caffeine today and so my poor little brain is on over load and I don't think I'm understanding what you're saying. I don't want to reply till I do.

Popping Bloodlust wont speed up Tameing. Or any Haste for that matter.

Then explain to me how I managed to make Tame Beast cast at ~10 seconds with haste gear and haste buffs? Ya know, what hunters who wants to tame King Krush, King Mosh and/or The Beast, do?

Exactly.

The spell, "Tame Beast" cannot be made faster by any means.

I wasnt saying he was right, i was clarifying what he said to the person who didnt understand it. I honestly dont know if it affects it or not, as i have not tried anything that would need it.

This is absolutely false.

The reason the ghost wolves can't be tamed anymore is because they were made untameable.

Even if they were tamable again, you couldn't tame one. The meta gem that was used no longer cuts your next cast time in half. You'd need an unrealistic amount of haste to make up for that, even if it worked.

Edit: I just tested the effect of haste on this spell for myself. I never expected blizzard to remove a nerf. I'm genuinely surprised.
