So, while digging around in the latest version of WMV I discovered SEVERAL and I do mean SEVERAL of what appeared to me 'new' and or WIP models for existing pets in the game. As the die hard hunter that I am I couldn't contain my LOVE for these and I pray that Blizzard WILL at least use some of them in Cataclysm or future patches.

Let me say this now, these are all from WMV and are not in the game as of yet (As far as we know that is) but they are gorgeous to look at no matter what.

Anyway to start things off let's have some Chimera!

My Personal Favorite:
The subtle combination of the White and Dark Brown Model

I found two Crabs on my search, These I believe were already in the files but unfinished. They appear to be polished up now.

Or at least I've never seen the model before!

And now, Ladies and Gents... I will move onto the most EXCITING Thing I found... RIDING TIGERS! Oh my god I spazzed when I saw them all! Now, while some may not be 'new' it would be a NICE addition to have them in game.

Enjoy all of the models, and really... let's badger the HECK outta blizzard to USE some of these things!

Edit: If anyone would like me to try and look up other 'new' things I will try and do so. I was looking through Hyena's and saw nothing Outstanding, and I saw only a couple new Basalisk models that seemed 'new' to me at least. Eagles there appeared to be a Lighter shade of the Bald Eagle but nothing extremely wow worthy.

Edit: I did some more Digging... and I've found some very interesting stuff! Don't mind the 'wacky' models that I'm posting... they were just amusing!

First up... the funky models... IE: The Eye Glow Sabers I think these here were just the actual 'glowing' eye of the Sabers put onto the Model xD Amusing needless to say!

You and me both... goodness I cannot stop splunkering around to see if I can find anymore. So far, anything that I've already seen is well... already in there... BUT! I shall continue to dig around some |D I cannot stop looking now.

The crabs were already in the live modelviewer, but the rest of them are nice finds. Thank you for compiling them.

I hadn't been 100% sure on the crabs, the last time I checked they were there but I didn't recall them being completed models. Either way, I wish Blizzard would use them <-< I'd be all over that Dark Diamond one <3

Here's to hoping they make a solid Green Chimera now and that Beige one <3

OMG! those gave me a raging tamer and i cant wait to catch even more pets come Cat release! so glad we get more pet storage space ^_^

The riding tigers, especially the gold one are beautiful! Love the sapphire owl. Nice finds.

The model viewer can be rather glitchy sometimes with skins, even if they are meant to work. I don't completely understand the program but I think with the chimeras they have two different skins that get applied to the model and the in progress one is actually showing skin textures meant for the neck, wing and tail in the wrong areas. I think the new colors are a beige chimera and a green chimera, and the files to show the whole thing are right there but you might need a program like 3D studio max or something to make them work properly. The brown body and white/blue head combo is likely glitch. If you play around a bit from the first two skins before selecting any of the others you should see how the one you leave will have half the colors "stick", so I was able to get a "reverse" of your brown and white chimera picture:


For the spectral worgs I did get a working version and had loaded up a pic of them earlier:

A lot of the wild cat skins have been in the game files for a while for use with the mount cats now but never implemented. I figure they are mostly around in case Blizzard ever wants a use for them like they finally did with the cheetah spotted riding models in Sholazar! I would really really love to see some of those in the game, even a regular ice sabre would be wonderful to tame!

I think that raptor was used for the quest to get a ravasaur mount. Boots for sure is new to the game and I want one! :}

Indeed, I figured they were a glitchy thing in general but some of the combinations were interesting to see. I wouldn't mind that combined white/brown one you have there and OMFG finally working ones of the other spirit wolves thank you!

As far as it goes, I can understand them being in the games files for awhile. Though the last time I checked my OLD version of WMV the sabers weren't yet implemented as far as I knew. At least not the Ice, etc.

Ooohh, that sapphire owl is lovely... hopefully at least some of these models make it to in-game. Tameable would be even better! The chimera skins look a little odd with their sudden change from one colour to another, but I'm guessing that's still WIP, so...

I'm not the only one that giggled upon seeing Awkward Teenage Raptor, right?

The riding tigers are all fantastic! I've always preferred that model of cat. Would be wonderful if they implemented all of them. ^^

Those Gem Cats look like those JC things you make and the vanity Gem Cat pets......
