Anyone have good macros that they use? I am leveling up as a BM hunter and have no intentions of being anything but a BM (i like special pets). Any help is appreciated

well, I have a macro I think is neat...
it has me do Feign Death, and announces in chat that I am casting "Aspect of Roadkill".
but...
that's probably not what you're after.

Reminds me of my Rogue that used to say "Go Go Gadget Vanish" when he would vanish. I used that until i realized that my chat bubble would follow my stealthed rogue...
I also used "Go Go Gadget Stealth" - same fate though with the chat bubble.
I love that website with the macros. I am going to have to start using some of those now.
I also think I started this thread in the wrong topic place. If anyone knows how to move it feel free.

Victorelle, these aren't the stupid castsequencemacroes, Victorelle, they are all pretty good. The only macros I use are so I can play entirely with the keyboard.

One of my favorite macro's is for disengage. It's a pvp macro, but still darn useful for soloing.
It lets you disengage without having to target what's attacking you.
#showtooltip Disengage
/console targetNearestDistance 5.000000
/targetenemy [noharm][dead]
/cast [harm,nodead] Wing Clip
/cast Disengage
/targetlasttarget
I got it from
http://www.arenajunkies.com/showthread.php?t=49157
The only problem with it is that it does not target last target like it is supposed to.
I have one more good one, but I need to go to work...right now.
Ok, back from work.
Another macro I use is one I made myself. It's my "Save 'em!" macro, meant for either a healer save, or one of those moments when the tank dies. If you are using it as a healer save, you have to remember to turn growl back off when your pet is done taking care of whatever is chewing on the healer.
As it stands you still need to target what you want your pet to go after. I'm trying to work out a one button healer save, but no luck so far.
/petattack
/petautocaston growl
/cast intimidation
The last macro I have is for those rare occasions when you have to stop all dps, and you need to do it right now. It makes you target your focus, and if you have no focus you target your pet. It also puts your pet on passive, or if it already on passive it tells it to follow. All in one button press.
/target [target=focus]
/target [target=pet]
/petpassive
/petfollow
These are all fairly situational macros though. There is another thread that has some real nice ones that you would use all the time.
http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=54
If anyone knows how to make these better, that would be quite awesome as well.

My one Rogue buddy yells "NINJA VANISH!" and emotes "goes poof!" for his Vanish.
His other is "-name- asplodes!" when he does Fan of Knives.

I'm reasonably (touch wood) comfortable with customising macros, so if anyone has anything they are having trouble with, I'll take a crack at it.

I have an all in one pet care macro that I've been using sense BC, and it still works fine.'
/cast [target=pet, dead] Revive Pet; [nopet] Call Pet; [combat] Mend Pet; [nocombat] Feed Pet
/use [pet:Pet Type/Pet Type/Pet Type/, nocombat] FOODNAME;
If it is dead, it casts revive, if pets despawned, it calls, if your in combat it mends, if not in combat it feeds.
The feed part has been a little more useless, as with talents and the glyph I have rarly had to feed mine, but it's still good.
For the food, you add in your pets family type, then the food it eats. like
/use [pet:Cat/Wind Serpent/Warp Stalker, nocombat] Grilled Bonescale;
Got pets that don't all eat the same thing?
/use [pet:Cat/Wind Serpent/Warp Stalker, nocombat] Grilled Bonescale; [pet:Gorilla, nocombat] Skethyl Berries;
add as many that will fit, and it'll feed those pets the food you list.

Not exactly anything new and awesome, but I find it extremely handy...
Code: Select all
#showtooltip
/cast !Aspect of the Dragonhawk
Goes for every aspect I have, and it keeps me from getting out of an aspect by accident. I always seem to forget if I already switched back to Dragonhawk after being in Viper, which resulted in me running around with no aspect on at all. What this macro does is it just re-casts your aspect, even if you're already in it, making it impossible to end up with no aspect unless you die or right click the buff. Also try it with Eagle Eye for endless exploring trips! I once went all the way from Searing Gorge to Stormwind with it. XD
Then there's my ultra super-duper mouse middle button macro:
Code: Select all
#showtooltip
/cast [equipped:polearms, nomodifier] Wing Clip; [equipped:fishing poles, nomodifier] Fishing; [modifier:shift] Zapthrottle Mote Extractor; [modifier:alt, target=focus, help] Misdirection
I love using my mouse middle button for pretty much everything. For once it automatically switches between Wing Clip and Fishing, depending on what I'm holding at the time. If I hold down Shift, I switch into mote extracting mode and if I want to use MD on my focus, I'll press Alt. If I didn't run out of room at this point, I would've also made it so that if I don't have a focus, I'd MD my pet, but.... Can't get everything, can I? :D

I think they fixed that a long time ago, I know my hunter is unable to mass cast it when she use to before, recasting it pops you out of it, so you can't cast it from your viewing point.

That's why you ut an explanation mark in front of it.
/cast !Eagle Eye
I made a thread about it a while ago.

Huh, every time I do it on my hunter it don't let it. It recasts it from my hunters feet

/cast !Eagle Eye

Yeah, c&ped what you have, on my hunter right now, each cast it knocks me out of it and recasts it.

That's odd, it works just fine for me.

This is a direct copy from my Macro:
/cast !eagle Eye
And it works just fine for the infinite casts.
