I made a suggestion on the EU forums, here...


Suggesting they change the current (left-hand) face to the right-hand face. I think the current face is pretty much, well, deformed.

I think the worgen female model needs a lot of fixing, particularly the face. Possibly just opinion, but see this image for my suggestions:



I'm aware the image I used to begin with was WITHOUT hair, but I actually think the chosen hairstyles so far just make her look worse. They have simply malformed faces atm, and sticking a bunch of eyeshadow and blood elf hair on it just makes it hideous. Notice also (unmarked) the muzzle on the example one, I've moved the shading up a bit to change the overall shape. I think it looks a thousand times better.

Perhaps she's being fixed already, but if not, there's my suggestions.

Any opinions? Is it just me? Do people actually like the current face?

well, they aren't meant to be pretty, they're werewolves afterall, they should be scarey. but yes, the current one is poor compared to this guys suggested version

I love your changes, and no. I really do not like the current faces. Monstrous model (as in the profession, not the game kind of model) that tries to be pretty is just plain ugly.

Aye, I don't mean they're ugly like EWW SCARY, I mean ugly as in, poorly done. Bad proportions.

I totally agree. If your suggested model makes it into the game, that's the face I'll be using for all my worgen. She just actually looks wolf-like, unlike Blizz's models so far.

Considering the make-over the male worgen got, though, I'd go ahead and assume the female worgen are in for a make-over too. Whether to make them more campy and slutty or more ferocious and feral, I guess we'll have to wait and see. /fingers crossed.

I agree and I really like these proposed changes! The only thing more I would hope for is some more Worgen-inspired touches like more fangs but I'd easily choose the one on the right over the left. The shape of the current head is just too strange, the muzzle and lips throw me off the most and I hate the eyelash+eyeshadow look. In comparison the alterations are much more wolf-like, the features seem more balanced.

Hopefully they are working on something given the new male Worgen look but it also wouldn't hurt to have someone share it on the US forums as well to collect more support. :p

Keep in mind that that image was a WIP. But yes, it was a rather bad looking WIP. I love your changes! And she still looks quite feminine compared to the male worgen. I really, really hope that the final model will look something like this. More fierce and wolfish instead of cute foxy supermodel.

Also that they get a better voice actor for them.

It's really the snout and the pronounced stop that put me off so much. The profile there is something more akin to a chihuahua with the curvature from snout to skull, also the way the lip curls and comes up under the nose is just...bleehh.

I love your changes. The original, like Veph said, reminds me of a small yappy dog that is attempting (and failing at) looking smexy. The right actually looks wolf-ish.

As many people have mentioned, they're werewolves. They should look A) like wolves, with wolf-ish features, and B) they shouldn't look super-sexy. Granted, if you were turned into a werewolf you'd probably try to make yourself look as nice and as comfortable as possible considering the circumstances, but that does not mean you are capable of becoming a sex kitten (or fox, as it were). It's a bit of a stretch to think they could pull it off...

Your model is far more appealing and.....correct.....than that other thing. But, I have a hard time believing that is their finished product. After seeing the recent face for the male, I have high hopes that the female models will receive a similar treatment. I'm not giving up on Blizz just yet.

Well I'm gunna say this, I like them as is they look fine TO ME. They have colorful eyes NOT because of eyeshadow but because of their eyes glowing. And don't forget you can't even play their model at the moment bc they are still tweaking it. I like them with hair because quite frankly a pure mane is not my thing I like my females to appear female and I like their chosen hairstyles. I'm gunna go out on a limb here and say if you don't like them just don't play them.

Ok not to start an argument or anything here- but you guys all know that the female worgen are probably in as much of a WIP stage as old male worgen were? I mean if they hadn't of changed the males only recently I would have just said well tough crackers just be glad they aren't horribly mangled.

But guess what, the male worgen were made better, the hair was made better the model a bit better and especially the face oh thank god they fixed that. They look like wolves now instead of wolfish cats.

Mean the current model still isn't ingame and playable afaik. It still doesn't have hair on the model. Meaning it's not finished but still a WIP and as I said they even changed the male worgens which they gave no word were still WIPS.

Mean female worgens still have the glued on Wyvern ears which male worgen's had until the stealth change- it should say something.

Though your suggestion isn't bad, but, in light of what blizz has done for male worgens, I think we should only start worrying later for the changes the model needs.

I don't think Acherontia was trying to start arguments or criticize Blizz so much as she was trying to give suggestions to ways they might improve those WIPs... And if the Blizz devs take a look at her work and think "yeah, this fan really captures worgens" or even "I like how she made the snout broader, perhaps we should have that be an option" then really, I think her post was well worth it.

I totally understand that not everyone wants the very feral looking worgen, but a lot of people are not too keen on the very polished look the female worgens have in their current form - to some, they look too dainty. Ideally, Blizz will offer us skins that cater to both tastes, so that both types of players can roll a worgen and not be dissatisfied with the race.

Honestly, "then don't play one" is not a viable response, if coming from Blizz. Why on earth shouldn't a customer have the opportunity to play the race and enjoy it (including their new zone!)? Ideally, no players will look at the worgen and be unable to create an avatar that they're at least mostly satisfied with. Ideally.

My point is that not everyones going to be pleased, heck not everyone likes what they did to male blood elfs making them muscle buff and all but they still did it because they felt thats how they wanted it to do. You can say your "unhappy" with how the model looks but I guess what I'm trying to say is dont freak out until you know what they are doing especially since they did a complete overhaul on the males in the first place.

Basically just the suggestions that she would make regarding the current model. We know it's not the final form, but since that's all we've seen these are just hypothetical fixes to discuss the current 'beta' model's issues.

I know it's a work in progress, but I was just pointing out the reasons why I don't like the current look of them. If they change them then awesome, but this is just constructive criticism.

Aw I got all excited when I saw the suggested changes one thinking it was the real new one.

I don't have a problem with them looking feminine as such. It's the misshapen snout/skull that bother me. Style is one thing, but no living creature has a muzzle that low down on the face, a forehead shaped like that or such an abrupt stop

And yes, I'm writing the post under the assumption that Cataclysm is still in the beta, and changing, but also remember that this is THE RIGHT TIME to give feedback. If everyone hated a Cata feature but didn't mention it, and then Blizz implemented it, and everyone clamored for change...

Customers: Wtf? We HATE this.
Blizz: Well, why didn't you say so in Beta? O.o
Customers: We thought you'd fix it anyway!

Thanks for all the comments on both sides btw, the feedback is interesting to say the least.

In addition, you can't put makeup on fur, which is why the eyeshadow it just plain dumb.
