Alright, so Vash'jir. The entire place is under water, whee. It's full of things that spook the hell right outta me. Ninja whale sharks, DEEP water, wandering around INSIDE a giant mollusk-thing. And tentacles. Always with the tentacles.

It was really only a matter of time until they conspired against me, I guess.

Way down in the Abyssal Depths zone, there is an area with this:



A whale shark held captive by more happy-funtime tentacles. And I knew then I couldn't leave it alone. it -couldn't- just be for looks, right?



Nah, not with tentacles like that guarding it.

And of course, I was right.


I'm pretty sure I made a face somewhere between D: and :C IRL when I read this. Attack the big scary tentacles? to free one of those ninja sharks? I didn't even know where to START telling miss shaman there why that was a bad idea. She would hear nothing of it, and so with trepidation I went forth to my doom.

Here was going to be a screen of the shrunken tentacle. They got a "shrunken" debuff that said something like. "Shrunken. Brrrrrrrrrrr." that obviously wiped them of their elite ??? status and made them killable. Unfortunately because I'm bad at figuring out distance in this game I had to swim within shooting distance before I could drop the totem rather than right at the 40 yards away mark (since I tried that once and it DID turn and grab me and made me yelp like a little girl), which freaked me out a little because if I can hit it then it might be able to hit me (not that it did).

But in the name of helping things, I guess... so I braved the tentacles in the deep dark, and what did mr. whale shark do once he was free?



He just swam away without so much as a "thanks" or anything! ...though considering how much seeing one of them swimming TOWARDS me makes me want to panic, I guess that's the best thing that could have happened...

*imagines it chasing players across the zone in a misguided attempt to thank them while the players are just trying to get away from it...* har.

So, has anyone else found any new quests that bothered them? anything neat?

It was, to be fair, some pretty major shrinkage. Almost enough to feel sorry for them in hindsight, but not quite

You have to hand it to Blizz though for going way back into the 90's for a movie reference.

Hehehe. I prefer Hyjal over Vashj'ir. (Can I even SPELL it properly?) Could be I've done a lot more in Hyjal than Vashj'ir though.
