first thing today as i log after the patch, i hear stelth sound and then look at my silver fox is semi transperant.
and lo and behold he has prowl.

Cause its a Fox, not a Wolf ^^

It still says "Wolf" in the screenshot?

well i can confirm its a fox, now i wonder what skill theyll have =)

Ah, I see! I hope they get something other than Prowl. We already have two pet families with Prowl. Foxes need something new!

The fox is named Wolf because when s/he was tamed, s/he WAS a wolf, so that was the default name assigned.

Wait wait wait wait...

They are still going to be in the wolf category right?? I need a new buffbot to raid with me

Quick search on forums says no. FUCK MY LIFE

Pets are going to change so drastically in Cataclysm you won't need a wolf as your mandatory raiding pet anyways.

Edit: You're right, and that sounds amazing! I can't wait to have a stable of 5 on command to buff the raid with the best thing possible that night. Hunters will be even more of an asset for raid success, I love it Now how am I going to pick skins for 20 pets @_@

Foxes are supose to get there own pet family from what i hear .
And prowl is just a cosmitic skill , they will have one for combat purposes , cause if they only had Prowl for Cats and Spirit Beasts , no one would get one .

Amusingly, cats used to only have prowl. Rake was added later, when other pet families picked up shinier abilities and hunters stopped/threatened to stop using cats.

I can also confirm that monkeys got their own family also. Monkeys are now Cunning pets, but they still have the same special as Gorillas.
