Found something interesting when trying to re-skill my skinning. The nightsabers on Teldrassil are no longer skinnable. Same thing for the young nightsabers but not for the young boars.

Are those the level 1-5 beasts? Or outside that area also?

Those are the level 1-5's but i am seeing some issues with some other creatures as well that where skinnable but are not now. Highlands Thrasher a raptor in Ariathi Highlands is not skinnable and carries money now*quizzical face*. Nothing in Swamp of Sorrows is currently skinnable ether. The young boars are like level 1 and 2 and they are still skinnable so i don't think its level related, because I thought that at first so tried them out too.((Currently unable to test on my hunter right now any more due to a bug that keeps crashing the game for her.))

Mobs in the starterzone's level 1-5 area and critters are unskinnable on live too now. Unsure why.

The same reason critters are now unskinnable probably- to force you to move into different zones instead of making a bot that goes around one shotting lv 1 pigs to skin.

but on Beta atm we have snakes who think they're wolves and all that so mobs not being able to be skinned is probably some unintentional bug in the beta and not a 'they changed it to where you can't skin mobs'. IE like if it was accidentally reclassified stealthily to being a humanoid mob instead of a beast mob but is still flagged as beast for being tameable- just not skinable.
