I was looking back at all the screenshots I've taken during my time playing world of warcraft and found something interesting.

Well me and a friend of mine that I had recruited was going to tame a gorilla in stranglethorn vale and because of a joke "he looks like you" I decided to kill the pet right before the tame finished. Now the strange part was that he was able to loot a Gorilla fang from his own pet and this got me thinking.... maybe you could kill the rares in northrend (spirit beasts, king krush etc) and still tame them. Could be helpful if you're after the achievement and getting a new pet. Maybe if you find someone trying to kill the rare for his achievement you can tell them to deliver the killing blow as the tame finish to avoid having to camp him twice. Unfortunately this isn't something for those who loves their pets and doesn't want to see them die

I'm sorry if this is a useless thread, I was having a hard time deciding whether to post it or not.

This seems like a very rare bug, so I wouldn't try it on a rare, their respawns are too long to risk it with this.

I have to agree. It seems more like a bug/glitch than something to count on.

That would have to be incredible timing, and most likely very hard to pull off. Flukes are one thing, but actively attempting to do something like this would probably be incredibly frustrating. xD

As Ally, I'm offended. We Alliance take care of our pets just as well....except for a few outliers, like the OP.

(Note, not offending anyone, neither horde or the OP. Just being silly.)

C'mon now. Trolls regularly eat their pets, everyone know's that! The most the allies have to worry about is a night elf getting to huggy, or a dwarf getting to drunk.....
