The special Collector's Edition package, which will only be available at retail stores, will include the following exclusive bonus items in addition to the game disc:

-- Art of the Cataclysm art book, featuring 176 pages of never-before-seen images from the archives of the Blizzard Entertainment cinematics department and the World of Warcraft development team, as well as progressive visuals from multiple stages of development.

-- Exclusive in-game pet: he may not be a breaker of worlds just yet, but Lil' Deathwing will still proudly accompany heroes on their struggle to save Azeroth from his much, much larger counterpart.

-- Behind-the-scenes DVD with over an hour of developer interviews and commentaries, as well as a special Warcraft(R) retrospective examining the rich gaming history of the Warcraft universe.

-- Soundtrack featuring 10 epic new tracks from Cataclysm, including exclusive bonus tracks.

-- Special-edition mouse pad depicting Deathwing menacing the ravaged continents of Azeroth.

-- World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards, including a 60-card starter deck from the Wrathgate series, two extended-art cards, and two Collector's Edition-exclusive hero cards, marking the first appearance of goblin and worgen heroes in the TCG.

The first two World of Warcraft expansions, The Burning Crusade(R) and Wrath of the Lich King(R), each shattered PC game sales records upon their release. In Cataclysm, the face of Azeroth will be forever altered by the return of the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing. Players will explore once-familiar areas of the world that have now been reshaped by the devastation and filled with new adventures. In an effort to survive the planet-shattering cataclysm, two new playable races -- worgen and goblins -- will join the struggle between the Alliance and the Horde. As players journey to the new level cap of 85, they'll discover newly revealed locations, acquire new levels of power, and come face to face with Deathwing in a battle to determine the fate of the world.

The beta test for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is currently underway. To set up a Battle.net account and sign up for a chance to participate, please visit the official Battle.net website at http://www.battle.net.

The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector's Edition will be available on DVD-ROM for Windows(R) XP/Windows Vista(R)/Windows(R) 7 and Macintosh(R) at a suggested retail price of $79.99. The release date and other details for the game will be announced in the months ahead. I laughed at "he may not be a breaker of worlds just yet, but Lil' Deathwing will still proudly accompany heroes on their struggle to save Azeroth from his much, much larger counterpart."

I'd think Lil' Deathwing would actually be trying to convert you to HELP his larger counterpart.

Most Gamestop's and such will start taking pre-orders once Blizz has officially announced a CE. Just call your store and ask they can usually tell you ...if they aren't completely inept. >_<

Unless it changes it'll only be available at retail stores. So Gamestop or EB should be running things where you can pre-order it so they'll hold the game for you when it comes in. Or.. you can be that brave soul that stands in line outside of Wal-mart at midnight to get your hands on one, if Wal-mart holds a midnight release like they did for WOTLK, or stand in line outside of Best Buy early early in the morning before the store opens so you can get a voucher to get the CE when the store opens. *With the voucher you just walk up to the cashier, she/he hands you the game, you pay, you be happy.*

Personally I like the midnight release when they did it for BC and WOTLK because by the time the things downloaded I was up and playing around 5am. And also because our Wal-Mart is located in the boonies there were three CE still on the shelf two days after the games release.

AWESOME! I really needed a mousepad because my old one had fungus growing inside it and had transformed from blue to greenish. Also, is that what the pet will look like? I think I've seen a cuter version on mmo-champion before. Can you preorder the collectors edition anywhere or is it only if you buy it online? I've never bought a CE before :/

I want the expansion NOW! *runs around room excitedly*

Ooh consider me sold on it! I love the thoughts of another wonderful art book and Lil' Deathwing. Although I had hoped the pet would have been for the 6th anniversary rather then just another CE whelp. I kinda miss the variety (and multiple options) we had for the vanilla CE. =(

They said the same about Starcraft 2 CE being "only in retail stores" yet I ordered mine online - so I assume we'll see the same with WOW:C-CE.

Yeah happened with Wrath as well. I bought one of GAME's site for myself, one of ASDA for Ryai and a third from my local Gamestation for another friend. Collector's EDitions are fun when they're out of region as they're so heavy.

Deathwing's arms are fairly broke on the standard boxart, hope they fix as it ruins the head epic.

I have TBC, Wrath and StarCraft 2 so a third WoW one won't hurt. I love the artbook I jsut hope it feels a bit more filled than the Wrath one does. Please I hope once more there's no Netherwhelp incidents. I may love Lurky to pieces but I never EVER want to be forced to ship crap to France to get my damn game activiated properly again :/

Even if you get a bonus pet or mount for your troubles? :P

Although yes, I'd rather not deface any part of the CE contents (even if it is only the backplate).

I might buy it. Issue is it's probably going to cost a lot. Especially since the regular game alone is $49.99.
We'll see when it's gets closer to launch how much it's going to be.

Not only did I get my CE later than release (£25 brand new from Amazon just because the cellophane was torn) there was a LOT of people reported Blizzard never got their mail since second it leaves a country border, tracking quite often goes blip. What isn't known so much now, we had to send a proof of purchase/cut out something from the CE container sheet and send a card over there. For me this cost over a fiver and thankfully got there and I got my pets safetly, there were far more that weren't as lucky :/

Unfortantely so many people over the years have tried to buy/demand code/demanded to know how I got Lurky which gets REALLY annoying. Thankfully he has a macro though now Thor is getting the same treatment ARGH.
